Introduction
Value chain analysis refers to the analysis of the firms capabilities and products to meet the customers or end users needs perfectly. Value chain analysis is important in accessing whether the firm meets the needs of the customers in a perfect manner (CMA Canada, 1999).
Main body
X-Copper is a firm that provides professional legal services to the people in the society who are charged with traffic offences, criminal charges, commercial vehicle offences or any other form of offence related to traffic tickets defense and impaired driving charges based in Ontario. X-cooper is a professional corporation that operates and provides legal services under authority of law society of Upper Canada. These are the main services that are provided by the firm but under each one there are the offences related to them (X-Copper, 2008).
Traffic offences the firm deals with include careless driving, lack of insurance, speeding and any other related offence, criminal offences include impaired driving, theft, assault, dangerous driving and any other related offence while on the other hand commercial trucking offences include fight tickets, conduct audits, driver training and any other related offence. The firm provides services related to this offences and charges to their clients, what they do is that they defend the client until they see that he/ she is not charged on those offenses (X-Copper, 2008).
In order to ensure that there clients are highly satisfied and they receive the best from the firm, the firm ensures that their clients receive professional services from lawyers, paralegals and former police officers. This is because these are people who are experienced in those fields and when they handle clients case they will do it to the best of their ability and knowledge. The firm has the needs of the clients at their heart and thats why they provide professional services in order to ensure that the clients receive a positive outcome to their legal problems (X-Copper, 2008).
The firm handles all the charges of their clients whether they are serious offences or even minimal to ensure that they win the case and they are not charged. It doesnt matter the kind of offence the client is charged with the firm offers professional services to ensure that the clients gets the best. The firm works out through its professional team to defend the rights of their clients through court system from beginning of the case to the end and they try to best act on the interests of the clients (CMA Canada, 1999).
There are several things in the firm that for the value chain form the supplier i.e. X-Copper firm and the customer i.e. the clients. The first thing is the professionalism offered by the firm through high qualified and professional lawyers, paralegals and former police officers. The effectiveness and affordable legal services also form value chain from the suppliers to the customers in the firm. From such value adding services and activities the firm has managed to sustain its customers and has gained a competitive advantage in the market since many people go for the services of the firm. When the firm offers value adding services to customers in turn it gains a competitive advantage since many more clients are attracted and the ones that are there are sustained (X-Copper Legal Services, 2008).
The people who utilize the services that are offered by the firm are the persons that are charged with traffic offences, criminal charges and commercial vehicle offenses. They are the main users of the services because the services provided are related to these areas.
The major value adding activities in the company fall under three major categories, professionalism, effective and affordable services. In order to meet the needs of the clients the company offers professional services, professionalism in offering the services adds value to clients because they trust that when their case is handled by a professional person it is easier to succeed that when handled by non professional. Affordable costs, when the clients know that the services are affordable they are attracted since one can not request for a service that he or she can not afford (CMA Canada, 1999).
Effectiveness, customers tend to trust more effective services and when they are assured that a product or service is effective then they are attracted to the service. These three major factors that make up the mission and vision of the firm are the main value adding factors of the firm. Through these three major factors the firm has gained a competitive advantage in the market and has maintained and attracted more clients to the firm (X-Copper Legal Services, 2008).
The companys value chain is comprised of several factors that are the strength of the firm. First the firm offers professional services that are affordable and effective. This is one of the strengths of the firm that gives it a competitive advantage in the market. On the other hand the clients or the buyer power is high this is because of the kind of services provided by the firm that encourages most of them to request for the services. The clients power is maintained by value adding services provided by the firm (X-Copper Legal Services, 2008).
Conclusion
Competition is still high in the market; this is because there are many legal firms that have been set up to provide similar services. But though there is competition the firm has managed to stay ahead because of the quality and value adding services that the firm provides to its clients. But since competitors try always to beat the company it should be focused on the attraction and retention of the customers in the firm through development of new innovative strategies (X-Copper Legal Services, 2008).
In conclusion the firm has managed to maintain its value chain in a better position through its high quality services provided. It is because of this that the company has survived in the competitive market and it continuous to attract more clients.
