Many years ago, people used to value and respect traditional lifestyles in many different ways. In the past, people were connected to each other throughout families and communities, which allowed them to be linked and, in a relation, full of trust. There weren’t any complications back in the day, and life was mostly simpler due to the strong ties people had and the rituals people would follow. Nowadays, people have forgotten the value of tradition and culture, which lead people to lack of trust and communication throughout communities and sometimes families, and bonds are not as strong as they used to be back in the good old days.

With this in mind, encouraging people to use and value traditional lifestyles will allow them to gain back the simplicity of life and the strong bonds they once had in the past alongside a multitude of other benefits.

One should be aware that traditions are an important part of our culture, and they help to build the structure and establishment of our families and society. Firstly, traditions can help make cultural standards stand out in many different ways, such as valuing the past and present. People all over the world tend to stick to their culture by expressing their morals, for example, here in the UAE, we celebrate our National day every year on the 2nd of December, and to make our culture standout, people all over the UAE wear traditional clothing and jewelry and spend time together all as one nation. In other words, values, such as integrity, faith, and freedom, are reinforced by tradition (Sonnenberg, 2015).

This allows families and community standards to reunite and indicate in a better and more traditional way that may be linked with not only values but as well as manners. The importance of tradition lies in traditional ways like rituals and rules. For example, neighbor relationships are directly impacted by the traditional elements of a society, which is of paramount importance for unification and strengthening of the community (Alwahedi, 2016). The rituals and rules that are held throughout traditions can have a very beneficial impact on everything like families, connections, and lifestyle. By valuing priorities, old rules, and rituals, they will enable a sense of belonging throughout societies. Looking back at your past culture and family will give you an understanding of the simplicity of life back in the day, also how it used to be and how over time, things like ethics and lifestyle have started to change. However, the old importance of reputation and worth still impacts future lives.

Each culture deals with a reputation in its own way, and for example, some cultures would kill just to keep their reputations intact. Thus, by looking back at the past, it will empower a person to acknowledge the important sides of culture. Therefore, the importance of traditions can contribute to the structure and foundation of our families and society, which makes cultures stand out and for individuals to gain a better understanding when looking to your past, family, and culture.

The second reason why people should value and use traditional lifestyles is that these lifestyles can provide sources of traditional identity and reflection to individuals. One of the main reasons why people don’t acknowledge and understand their own cultures is because they lack self-reflection and evaluation. It is stated that the relationship between tradition and one’s identity are manifested in the Four B’s, such as benevolence, believing, belonging, and being, which are of the paramount importance of an individual’s traditional identity (Watts, 2017). People that have self-reflection expand their understanding and knowledge by studying their past cultures.

For example, parents and elderlies play a big role in shaping their upcoming family’s future. The actions and rituals are being passed down and grown into them, which will allow their future to be as steady as their past, and people are also expected to follow the same rituals and resolutions. This will lead to a future that defines the past and shapes who people are today and what they probably become in the future. It is evident that tradition is critical since it is a necessary ingredient for honoring one’s past generations and one’s origins (Rockwell, n.d.). When people ignore the meaning of traditions, they risk destroying or losing the foundation of their self-identity. In addition, having self-respect can also lead to a responsible and mature future for many people.

For example, men in our culture understand their fathers and ancestors’ choices they made in the past, for instance, why they sold a house or why they did what they did, which led them to a stable and beneficial matter, and these advantageous outcomes will permit men to be responsible and mature enough to make big choices like them. This will lead a person to make their own decisions just by understanding their culture’s past choices. In the same way, self-influence also plays a huge role in taking part and learning from one’s past and roots. This is because nowadays people tend to connect with people of different cultural backgrounds, which can make them forget their history and culture or not learn it in the first place. Therefore, sources of traditional identity and reflection strengthen an individual’s sense of self and belonging by acknowledging their roots, history, and where they came from.

Lastly, traditions are critical at enabling reconnection and connection to all relevant aspects of one’s culture and community. By valuing and cherishing one’s own traditional culture, he or she will be more eager and interested in finding and exploring different cultures and traditions as well. In a sense, traditions can harness and develop one’s tolerance and multiculturalism since he or she will acknowledge the overall value of other traditions for the corresponding populations. In other words, traditions greatly improve a person’s character (Miller, 2018). Traditions also a key channel for contribution, because the latter can be conducted in regards to both traditional rituals and community decisions, which increase involvement and connection.

For example, utilizing traditional practices can even be highly effective in unexpected areas, such as management (Bonari et al., 2017). In addition, traditions create stronger binds and relations by enhancing intergroup communication within a community, which leads to greater communal strength, stronger bonds, and greater trust. Thus, enabling reconnection and connection between traditions and communities can lead to many benefits like creating strong and trustworthy bonds in the community, and individuals will have a stronger understanding of traditions.

In conclusion, it is important to encourage people to use and value traditional lifestyles because they can help individuals and can lead to many benefits in the future. Traditions are of paramount relevance since they allow people to define and understand their past. They are also critical at improving one’s capabilities for managing his or her own future. In addition, traditions are highly useful for creating and maintaining strong connections and bonds within a community. Cultural traditions and rituals can lead to many benefits in one’s current life and future, and they can make a person more comfortable with their lives just by following established rules and rituals.
