In his view the student gives the details of his understanding of the origin of Spenser Johnson’s story on what he told his employees and what he intended to accomplish by doing so. The student suggests that the story was aimed at improving the perception of the employees on daily changes in the organization. However, this book has the theme of a critical advice to the employees on life generally and not specifically their life in the company only (Spencer, 1998).

According to the student’s review of the book, the interest of the author to write the book, which he called ‘who moved my cheese?’ was not his initial plan. It was developed later, only after observing the overwhelming interest of the people in his story. This is not entirely true because besides the interest of people, other factors may have contributed like the passion of the author to motivate others.

The student’s review explains cheese from a general view of good things in life like a good job, a good wife and wealth. However, it could also mean the interest of people in life, for example; some people may have an interest in football or motivating others. His review of the beginning chapters in the book, the student could have shown a more detailed understanding of the text and the context.

In addition to that, he does not give an analysis of how the four characters work and the circumstances in which they found the cheese. After their achievement, the explanation was only focused on the success they had achieved and nothing more. The student also ignores to give an explanation of the nature of maze and a description of how maze can also be a challenge to those who seek the cheese.

On the reaction of the four characters in the play, the analysis gives the details of the characters but fails to link them directly to similar cases in the real world. Apart from linking their action to the real world, the student needs to give the consequences of the characters both in the books context, and in the perspective of real world cases. The review also lacks a comprehensive conclusion of the book and its overall effect to the company, and to the society he only considers individual perception (Lederman, 2010).

Conversely, adaptation to change whether gradual or quickly sometimes has its effects like, initially when Haw and Hem got the cheese before it disappeared, instead of them being wise on its use and their future they become content and unfocused. Besides, it also failed to analyze the effects of the change and the consequences such as conflict that change may came with. For example, he does not give an analysis of the inability of Haw and Hew to reason beyond the cheese (Spencer, 1998).

In Haw’s journey to find the new cheese the student should have given more details of what Haw learnt while looking for the new cheese. Instead, he only gave a few general lessons. His final analysis of the association of the author to the book is irrelevant because from the beginning the writer formulated the story for the employees. When he wrote the book, his intention was to help those people who found it challenging to adapt to change (Lederman, 2010).
