National and International Challenges

One of the national level challenges is to organize these aspects and build the awareness of the community around it. Gathering the right components for action is the primary issues on the national and community level (Homan, 2016). As for the international challenge, it remains evident that this aspect does not have a tendency to present due to the global interest in the problem. Moreover, various international registries are created for monitoring (Bobby & Urofsky, 2008). Nonetheless, the primary challenge in the social service industry is the necessity to monitor the problems on the international level while dealing with the high volumes of relevant and irrelevant information. Nonetheless, these aspects are the primary elements to refer to due to their ability to influence the situation in the world.

Change, Leadership, and Advocacy Theories

Speaking of the national challenge, in this instance, cultivating change is a necessity, as it implies improving the quality of services at the national level. The leader has to be able to underline the essence of the existing problem and attract required resources and attention of the authorities (Homan, 2016). One of the examples might be the presence of the high levels of poverty due to the increased unemployment rate in the community or significant level of pollution in the distant regions of the country. The government does not pay vehement attention to these matters due to their presence on the local scale and lack of priority on the national level.

As for the problems on the international level, the presence of diverse approaches such universalism and imperialism creates the confusion in the decision-making (Gray, 2005). In turn, the collaboration and information sharing might be one of the solutions (Jones, 2012). Furthermore, the collaboration of the representatives of the different social statuses and cultures will contribute to the innovation approach to the development of the social change (Lee, 1997). In turn, the new approaches to integrations have to be found to eliminate the risks and avoid misconceptions (Bost, 2009). Moreover, the aspects have to be covered from various perspectives including the issues related to the service psychology (Leong & Savickas, 2007).

The global nature of the challenge has to contribute to the formation of the sufficient understanding of the problem while assessing the matter from different perspectives and propose the right solution to the particular social issue. In turn, many participants have to participate in the decision-making process. For instance, the problem of the poverty in Africa has to be discovered on national and international levels while evaluating different points of views. In the end, the trusting relationships between the participants have to be cultivated to establish the trusting and reliable network while respecting the opinions of each nation and social group on national and international levels (Stephenson, 2005).

Ethical Challenges

Speaking of the ethical challenges on the international level, the leader of he movement might offend the views of the individuals while portraying their dissatisfying position in the society. In this instance, this problem might occur unintentionally due to the dissimilar ideas about the same matters. A collaboration is a critical aspect while addressing this problem, as people should understand profoundly that they are the part of the complicated system. Nonetheless, the ethical issues related to the discrimination is the most common problem, which takes place at national and international levels. Nevertheless, collaboration can be considered as the crucial solution to this issue due to the essentiality of integration in the modern society.

Guidelines of the Code of Ethics

Lastly, ACA Code of Ethics is the most suitable approach for determining the sufficient guidelines, which will help eliminate the problem. “Developmental and cultural sensitivity” could be one of the potential guidelines, which will help avoid discrimination on national and international levels due to the necessity of the counsellor to distinguish between appropriate and inappropriate information while interacting with the representative of the social or cultural group (American Counselling Association, 2014, p. 4). Ethical education of the service professionals will help avoid misunderstandings while finding a suitable solution to the social problem and delivering the message to the authorities.

In turn, “Non-discrimination” is also highlighted in the guidelines, as it violates the rights of the individuals and questions the ethical education of the counsellor (American Counselling Association, 2014, p. 9). This approach will contribute to a finding solution to the raising problems and challenges without violating the rights of the individuals, social groups, and cultures.
