If abstract away from the influence of a particular given technology on the situation, anyone can see a division of opinion. For example, many are still convinced that voter fraud occurred and that the motives of the people who raided the capitol are justified (Eggers et al., 2021). There are as well differences of opinion among critical thinkers who deny the 45th president’s populist version of what happened (Dalsheim & Starrett, 2021). The people in both camps are disinclined to pay attention to the importance of television broadcasting in the attack on the administration building and contributing to the deaths and injuries.
For a different perspective on the causes of what happened and the degree of importance of television, one can look at everything that happened from a technical and natural science lens. From this perspective, the importance of such media in modern society is minimal (Eggers et al., 2021). It can likewise be seen that on social media and other prevalent sources today, the ideas that led to the tragedy did not have great traction (Anderson, 2022). Apparently, most insurrection supporters at the time of the incident did not trust or use sources other than those under the control of the government because they were indoctrinated with “fraud” idea. The essence of the analysis and the opinions of the bulk of the people when using a different perspective on the issue are still the same.
In today’s world, the notion of the importance of digital literacy comes to the forefront. It is a quality that allows all people to critically evaluate any information received or situation encountered on the expanse of the Internet. It includes the possibility of any source being biased and the need to double- or even triple-check critical information (Anderson, 2022). People of any culture or point of view are able to find a common solution with a reasonable assessment and analysis of the quality of data itself. Nevertheless, in the situation examined in the study, cultural differences played no role. As television tries to infiltrate the digital universe by moving to the World Wide Web, the importance of digital literacy increases, and it will be possible to find common ground even with any members of society who have at least elementary critical thinking.
