Describe the problem/issue and what is known. Your literature review will inform this)
What gaps still exist? That is, after exploring the literature through your annotated bibliography, what is still not known?
Your research objectives/aims. This evolves from your research question. Think about what question(s) you still have about this area and reframing your question into action statements. Examples are: To examine…..; To explore….To identify….etc.
II. Methods
Design you are considering – Exploratory, Descriiptive, Explanatory. If you are testing an intervention, you will need to speak to experimental, quasi-experimental, or pre-experimental. Here you will also describe what you will be asking participants to do.

Data collection method – How will you gather the data/collect the data? (interviews, surveys, focus groups; will this be in-person, electronic, over the phone, etc.)
III. Ethical/social justice issues. Speak to possible ethical and social issues with your research and how you will address that.
IV. What is your goal; what are the outcomes? Explain how this data is useful and how it contributes towards answering your research question. What recommendations do you hope to make?
