Introduction

The Philadelphia Museum of Art is one of the country’s most extensive art galleries. It houses over three thousand items located on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway (Wallis, 2018). The museum is open from Tuesday to Friday from two to five o’clock in the evening. My friends and I visit the museum to enjoy the art collections and the jazz band that entertains visitors on arrival. The museum’s architecture is excellent and worthy of admiration, and it has a profound impact on all art enthusiasts. I visited the museum today, and it is a free ticket on Wednesday and Thursday.

The Feeling I Perceived When I Visited the Museum

When I first saw the museum, it reminded me of an old, rustic tower that had been there for decades. It complemented the museum’s theme because I had expected to see a structure from the previous decades (Wallis, 2018). Imagining all the beautiful goods and how people had displayed them, I admired the amount of time they had invested so that others may enjoy them. Everything in the museum was well-built; there were people I could interrogate and good notes I could use as a reference. The atmosphere was welcoming, and it made me feel like I would like to return because I did not feel uncomfortable being there.

Description of the Museum

The philaspedia museum of art-house houses a broad collection of beautiful painting works in various genres and shapes. The museum has one of the best collections of modern art globally, with hundreds of hidden gems by impressionists and postimpressionists. It houses animal, science, African-American literature, Jewish-American literature, and medical oddities collections. The Asian and European arts are presented on the upper floors (Wallis, 2018). The massive assemblage of ceilings, fountains, and columns inside the tower gave me the impression that I was in a Vatican temple. The museum offers an extensive collection of decorations from all over the world. Since its inception, architecture and interior design have been stunning. The compositions depict a specific geographical or temporal location.

The Art That Capsized My Attention

One of the old artworks that have piqued my interest is the French impression design. Impressionist paintings use a small, thin brush to emphasize the medieval age and show light. The colors are applied side-by-side with minimum mixing to create a bright region, while complementary colors are developed through dark and grey tones (Wallis, 2018). The painting’s surface is opaque to allow the painters to manipulate the paint and obtain the desired look. The French impression design influenced Neo-impressionism and cubism and was employed by early painters such as Delacroix and Turner in France. Pablo Picasso was one of the modern artists we encountered in the museum. To portray the element, the painter uses a variety of colors and varied hues to define the texture of the artwork. Picasso’s work illustrates his versatility as an artist interested in various styles. His early sculptures are made of wood and clay, whereas his later works are influenced by neoclassical art (Wallis, 2018). All of this pushed me closer to art, and I began to think of majoring in skills in the future.

Conclusion

I spent six hours on the first and second floors of the spectacular structure, and I had a great time. I expected to see many museum objects, which I did since I got the opportunity to analyze some of them. The building’s design features gorgeous wings dedicated to a variety of cultures. Since the structure is so large, it can take a whole day to navigate all areas. I was amazed by the beautiful artwork depicted on both the inside and outside of the building. I appreciated the variety of exhibits, including modern items and impressionist paintings. I hope to return to the museum in the future because it is a beautiful place to explore.
