Introduction

Enabling individuals to make healthier choices and pushing themselves to become better self-managers is known as health promotion. Health promotion programs should include health care, therapy, and support systems (Khoshnood et al., 2018). Schooling and psychotherapy programs that encourage physical activity, enhance nutrition, or limit the use of cigarettes, alcohol, or narcotics are instances of promoting health. Furthermore, the presented notion has a theory that methodically explains medical occurrences (Khoshnood et al., 2018). It is a collection of ideas, definitions, and assertions that demonstrate the links between variables to explain various medical tendencies. The Health Promotion Model (HPM) is based on the idea that one’s own experiences influence their behaviors (Khoshnood et al., 2018). The HPM is primarily linked to an individual’s lifestyle, attitude, mental wellbeing, cultural and social qualities, and biological elements (Khoshnood et al., 2018). The HPM’s end aim is health-promoting behavior, the optimum behavioral result. As a result, it is critical to explore such an approach and present practical instances of how it might be applied to investigate complex challenges in the science listed above.

Health Promotion Model

First, HPM should be compared against its equivalent, which has distinct goals and objectives. Awareness, information, abilities, ideas, attitudes, and values are all used in health education to help people make voluntary changes in their behavior (Khoshnood et al., 2018). At the same time, health promotion employs strategies that encourage people to improve their habits (Khoshnood et al., 2018). As a result, the distinction is reflected in how diverse health models depict a person and the methods used to persuade them of the same notion of health and how to attain it.

One of the essential aspects of HPM is the organizations that utilize the idea to guide their operations. Positive health habits and wellbeing for the individual kid and the whole family may be addressed via community-based initiatives (Wilkerson et al., 2017). Strengthening connections within families and the community may help establish healthy habits and attitudes (Wilkerson et al., 2017). This program design paradigm enables two-way interaction between different categories of people within the neighborhood, fostering partnerships and social cohesion.

4-H Food Smart Families teaches families how to plan, buy for, and prepare nutritious meals for those qualified for or receiving SNAP and Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) services. This group contributes to more food secure households by overcoming the obstacle of low finances by providing practical strategies for purchasing and preparing healthy meals (Peters, 2017). Louisiana, New York, Arizona, Mississippi, Florida, Nebraska, Washington, Wisconsin, and Tennessee are now participating in the 4-H Food Smart Families program (Peters, 2017, par. 7). As a result, such a program effectively increases HPM while also addressing crucial concerns such as vitamin deficiency and dangerous dietary habits among individuals.

Despite the abundance of community conceptions and constructions, this study examines communities primarily as geographical or spatial entities, although as the best approximation for capturing a complex of social interactions and institutions. In order to understand the influence of socioeconomic determinants on health, HPM should be applied to the stated community (Rootman et al., 2021). Negative pathological consequences that have developed with social science, healthcare, and the area of community group and progress are the cause for this. Such worry in the instance of 4-H Food Smart Families is consistent with individuals who follow healthy dietary standards may disregard medical advice from their therapists. Frequent advice from community officials about the significance of attending clinics for check-ups at least once a year might be one answer. Consequently, contemporary society faces the problem of misinterpreting supplements as medicals.

In theory, the processes through which socioeconomic status and resources impact health status are well established, but experimentally attributing social determinants of HPM is more challenging. Education, for example, may lead to specific career paths, which can lead to diverse revenue sources, physical agents to health dangers (Rootman et al., 2021). Furthermore, it creates the ability to participate in beneficial health habits, and exposure to social networks and communities that are thought to reinforce such behaviors. For example, attitudes toward racial discrimination have been connected to wellness, physical health, and psychological health (Rootman et al., 2021). The particular processes through which discrimination manifests itself in physical or behavioral consequences via stress or other routes are less understood.

People who have consistent work are less likely to be poor and healthier, yet many people have difficulty getting and retaining jobs. People with impairments, accidents, or chronic diseases like arthritis may find working difficult (Rootman et al., 2021). Furthermore, many individuals who have secure jobs cannot afford the necessary health care. More individuals can find and stay jobs with the support of stable employment, career guidance, and child mortality care options. As a result, programs that assist individuals in paying for food, shelter, universal healthcare, and education may help to alleviate poverty while also improving health and wellbeing.

Conclusion

In conclusion, HPM has been studied and found to be a valuable tool for evaluating different health initiatives and communities. The provided example indicates that such actions have good and bad aspects, allowing for debate. Such a component is helpful to the growth of health since it generates public attention. It also develops more practical methods to improve people’s quality of life, strengthen a balanced diet culture, and extend people’s average lifespan.
