Tendinitis is defined as the irritation or inflammation of the tendons, characterized by pain often displayed as a dull ache, mostly during movement of the joint, or the limb attached to the joint. The affected part often displays tenderness and mild swelling (Mayo Clinic Staff, 2020). Tendinitis can affect any tendon within the body, but on the upper body, it is mostly reported in the shoulder area, wrists, and elbows.

How Functional or Structural Order Is Affected

Tendonitis is usually caused by sudden injury or repetitive movements of the joints over time. Majority of the patients usually partake in activities involving movement of joints, which leads to stressing of tendons. The repeated actions stress the tendons resulting to increased inflammation thus facilitating the disorder.

Appropriate Treatment

Using painkillers such as naproxen sodium, ibuprofen, and aspirin is an effective treatment method, as they may alleviate the pain caused by tendinitis. Physiotherapy methods can also be employed in this situation. Anti-inflammatory creams can prevent side effects that may arise due to oral administration.
