Many people wonder how a 2.5 or lower GPA student athlete gets a full scholarship to college, while a 4.0 GPA student struggles to pay their tuition. Are all student athletes have a 2.5?

Student athletes does not always have a 2.5 or lower but when they do have a low GPA they still manage to get a full scholarship and this is because student athletes have chance to help whatever college they go to. The thing is colleges look for help and whatever and whoever can help them. D1 and big colleges mostly care about sports. For example, more than half of Florida State University enrolment is involved in sports. That is why most of the you don’t really see a small school in the national championship simply because most student athletes go to big schools unless they get in trouble off the field or doesn’t meet the requirements grade wise or just isn’t that good.

Student-athletes have a harder life to manage only because they have to keep up with school work and worry about their football life. For instance at my school Student-athletes have to worry about 4 different classes, finishing school at 3:25, going to practice at 4, getting out 7, and then going home having to worry about three or more homework assignments. It is harder for student-athletes to keep up with their work then it is for regular students. That’s another reason why student-athletes have a better chance getting into college then regular students.

Regardless, understudy competitors who are exceptionally conceded typically enter with fringe or beneath SAT, ACT as well as scholastic records (18, 21). While it isn’t known what number of understudy competitors are conceded every year under unique conditions broadly, as indicated by Knobler (18) ‘the greater part of grant competitors at the University of Georgia, the University of Wisconsin, Clemson University, UCLA, Rutgers University, Texas A&M, University, and Louisiana State University were extraordinary concedes.’ The truth of ‘adaptability in confirmations of competitors’ is having perceptible outcomes. A CNN examination in 2014 had the option to get the general population records of a few schools that uncovered that most have somewhere in the range of 7% and 18% of income sport competitors perusing at a grade school level (8, 23). Numerous understudy competitors in that examination were scoring great beneath the SAT perusing limit for being school proficient of 400, a few in the 200-300’s which is a rudimentary understanding level and unreasonably low for school classes. The national normal that year was 497. A similar examination noticed that on the ACT, which has 36 as its most noteworthy score and a national normal of 20, most groups had a normal score in the adolescents. The truth of ‘adaptability in affirmations of competitors’ is having recognizable outcomes. A CNN examination in 2014 had the option to acquire people in general records of a few schools that uncovered that most have somewhere in the range of 7% and 18% of income sport competitors perusing at a primary school level (8, 23). Numerous understudy competitors in that examination were scoring great beneath the SAT perusing limit for being school proficient of 400, a few in the 200-300’s which is a rudimentary understanding level and unreasonably low for school classes. Now don’t get me wrong none student-athletes believe that they should get into a big school On a full scholarship. They think just because they have a 3.5 or better and they are in The top 5% of their class students and they should go to a better College and get A full scholarship but believe it or not most colleges care about their Sports more than anything. If you can’t help them and they are mostly helping you then with all honesty they say forget you. if you’re not a student-athlete it’s a 70% chance that a student-athlete will get in a big college before you.

Yeah some people say students work harder than student-athletes and they deserve more scholarships than a student-athlete. Sometimes they might be right but most of the time that’s not the case. Just because students having a high GPA or think that they have more intelligence and can do more in they life doesn’t mean that they deserve a better scholarship than a student athlete. In fact college athletes work as hard as a regular student Or maybe even harder. like stated by Texas News ‘‘ I believe athletes work just as hard as academically honor students to become the after that they are’’. He/She is basically saying that students Does not work harder than student-athletes and should be given props by none student-athletes instead of being criticized about not working hard enough. Also who said student-athletes couldn’t have the same GPA or even higher than a non athlete student? Student-athletes does not always have a low GPA. That’s the whole point of a student-athlete student comes first athlete comes second so therefore a student-athlete can be a 4.0 student and play a sport it is not impossible.

It’s crazy how Non student-athletes say that student-athletes doesn’t work as hard as them but a lot of time you see a student-athlete get a scholarship not only from school performance but also camp performances. You rarely see a non student-athlete go to different events end Fairs in their spare time to earn colleges to look at them. I’m pretty sure you always see a student-athlete at camps or extra places so Scouts can look at them but you hardly see not athlete students going to a science fair unless recommended by their teacher. So how can a non athlete student Work harder then a student-athlete if they don’t even put their heart and soul into that work and barely new anything on their own. Now the students that do get a scholarship to a big school go the extra mile and put their heart and soul into their work. U can ask any student-athlete Do they not give their whole life up to sports; practice 24/7, no Thanksgiving brakes, no weeks off But non athlete students doesn’t know how that feel and don’t have to worry about having no days off because all they got to do is school work and nothing else.

This examination inspected the contrasts between two gatherings of Division I understudy competitors: the individuals who might have gone to a 4-year college paying little mind to their support in sports and the individuals who might not have gone to a 4-year college had it not been for the open door managed them through their athletic capacity. The scientists analyzed various scholarly factors including GPA, interest in serious scholastic encounters, class support and arrangement, impression of scholastic experience, significance of graduation, significant determination, and cooperation in extracurricular exercises, future objectives, and recognizable proof as a competitor or understudy. The information from the NCAA’s Growth, Opportunities, Aspirations and Learning of Students in College (GOALS) overview that was directed to an across the country, arbitrary example of NCAA understudy competitors in 2006 are examined. Our outcomes propose that there were critical contrasts between the two gatherings in a few of the areas estimated. For instance, our discoveries propose that understudy competitors who recognize as competitors first and understudies second ponder scholastics while picking a school, are more averse to study arithmetic and science, are less inclined to choose a significant to get ready for graduate school or a particular vocation, have lower GPAs, are less inclined to take part in classes, are less inclined to be engaged with extracurricular exercises, are less ready to forfeit on sports support for scholastics, feel graduation is less imperative to them and to their families, and think turning into an expert competitor is more probable. Suggestions for the NCAA and school sports programs are examined.

Now I do believe not athlete students deserve better and deserve to pursue their dream at a big college but truthfully colleges are looking for help in sports and nothing else truth be told. Let me tell you how colleges think. If you can’t help our program then we can’t help you. Don’t mean to crush your dreams but that’s reality.
