Quality of products and services is a vital element that any business should consider because a failure to ensure it prevents companies from reaching success. Some time ago, Samsung faced an issue associated with it as it started selling phones that exploded (Griffiths & Kamouni, 2017). This problem is associated with quality, and it can be discussed from Kant’s point of view as his moral theory presupposes that all people should be treated with respect and cannot be used to reach some goal (Castro, 2014). Focusing on the distribution of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7, it can be stated that the company wanted to sell its product and to obtain profit, failing to ensure that its phone had already been ready for utilization and safe for its users. The solution to this situation included gathering all items back and providing reimbursement to all clients. Kant’s theory does not consider this way out, but it turns out to be rather successful.

Focusing on their responsibility to customers and aligning their actions with Kant’s theory, the organization’s leaders would have spent more time and effort to ensure that the product was of high quality. Still, they were more concerned about their own business. To find a balance between the responsibilities of the involved parties, it would be better for them to delay distribution for several days. Moreover, governmental guidelines would not affect this solution regardless of the involved country, proving that this approach is appropriate. Considering the ethics of a global business environment, it will still be the best option because customer-centered services require excellent quality and service that ensure competitiveness.
