Introduction

The world is a global village and thus the internet connects the entire continent. This essay proposes the introduction of android proximity sensor is one of the upgrades throughout the entire year. To illustrate, the android proximity sensor plays a vital role on smartphones as it works on the nearness of a particular object to the particular android phone regardless of any physical contact. Assuming therefore that both of these findings hold a genuine relationship between the android phone and the users, one can safely state that through the proximity sensor, there is detection if something is close or not and thus triggers a particular function that is internal.

Main Ideas from the Proximity Sensors

The proximity sensor shall use the infrared (IR) based proximity sensors for detection of the existence of your ear. Literally this is done for two main purposes: saving power through the turning off of the back light and disabling the touch screen that aims at avoiding unnecessary touches from your body parts like movements while walking. Because mot android phones tend to have a large display from the screen, the rate of power consumption tends to be very high. As I view it, it is thus the best idea to have the android phone when not in use specifically when the phone is inside the pocket. Thus the IR-based proximity sensors are able to detect when the phone is close to the pocket walls and thus a message will be created to the processor of your phone to switch off the screen.

The capacitive sensors for the recognition of both the metallic and the nonmetallic targets. This feature, along with the ability to sense through the nonmetal materials will play a vital role in the monitoring of the android glass, detection of the liquid level and lastly in the recognition of the level of hopper powder. To illustrate, in the capacitive sensors, there are two conduction plates that are contained in the sensing head. The two conduction plates are thus connected to the oscillator and an output amplifier. Additionally, the more the target approaches the sensing area, the more the capacitance of the two plates. However, the key difference between the IR-based proximity sensors and the capacitive sensors are that the IR-based proximity sensors oscillate until the presence of target whereas the capacitive sensors only oscillate on presence of the target.

Advancement of the Proximity Sensors of Android Phone

Emergence of the smartphones specifically android phone have been due to the advancement in the mobile technology. There is therefore the need to equip the android phone with a more advanced computing capabilities. For instance, the Global positioning system (GPS) receivers and other sensing capabilities. Nevertheless, combination of the GPS with other technological advancement such as the map ensures the GPS becomes a very powerful tool. For instance, GPS being able to pinpoint the location of the android device with accuracy. Thus, the information obtained can be used to retrieve a stolen device. Secondly, the satellites for the GPS are already in existence and thus the system is affordable to all. However, there is need to cater for the device and the software costs. In addition, various apps in the android phone such as Google Maps are accessed without any charges.

The proximity sensor detects how close one is to his or her phone and thus be able to respond accordingly. Therefore, various features are activated in response, to act accordingly. For instance, when one looks at a screen it is able to light up or the display going off when the phone is close to the ear. Thus we can safely conclude that the proximity sensors play a vital role in streamlining our daily activities. However, failure of the proximity sensors can be due to various reasons and one of the key solution is to clean the dirt that is near the sensor. Too much of something is hazardous and therefore, is dirt. The building of dust can have negative impact on your android phone. In my opinion, blockage of dust in the sensor prevents it from detecting your face accurately. Therefore, there is need to use a clean cloth to wipe gently the upper most area of your android phone to ensure proper functioning of the sensors.

Economical Effect

The supply of sensors has stumbled over years despite the major strategies by the suppliers ranging from the patent rights to partnerships (Schoemaker, et al. 30). Thus, to ensure there is a lower production cost, the sensors uses various strategies, for instance, the modular design that creates a set of features within that sensor. Thus ensures that suppliers are able to purchase a particular modular feature from a third party. The standardized set of components thus aim towards production of large amounts of sensors and are used all over the World. To add on, for a particular organization to play a key role ibn the sensor market, there is need to address the question concerning connection. Therefore, it can be stated that failure of a sensor to fit in that particular network results to drastic losses in the market. Thus, the recent emergence of Component and IO-link have ensured compatibility with the sensors.
