Nursing Care Model Observed

The model of care exhibited in a healthcare department dictates the manner in which medical support is delivered to different clients. Nurse practitioners (NPs) can use various care delivery models to meet the diverse needs of their clients (Mattila et al., 2014). Recommending a Different Model

There are various nursing care models that can be used by healthcare workers to support the changing needs of different patients. The concept of teamwork emerges in order to promote the delivery of evidence-based care. The care management process is also managed in order to maximize patient outcomes. Nurses should be the pioneers of the model and attract other stakeholders. Patients in need of critical care can benefit from this continuous approach to healthcare delivery. The use of TCM in the targeted healthcare setting can make a difference for many stakeholders. The model will make it easier for the facility to acquire and manage healthcare resources. Evidence-based approaches will be considered in order to provide quality and safe care to targeted patients. Hirschman et al. (2015) believe strongly that the model has the potential to transform the organizational culture experienced in the hospital. The targeted patients will be empowered and realize their health goals.

The implementation of this model will encourage different nurses to support new changes that focus on new practices such as teamwork and collaboration. The quality of nursing care will increase because every stakeholder will be part of the healthcare delivery process. Members of the staff will have their challenges addressed and eventually maximize patients’ outcomes (Hirschman et al., 2015). Summary: New Lessons from the Exercise

The first lesson gained from this exercise is that nursing institutions can use different models to achieve positive results. However, each of the models has specific weaknesses that can affect patient outcomes. It would therefore be appropriate for NPs to be aware of the unique strengths and weaknesses associated with each healthcare delivery model. The knowledge can guide the workers to use the best models that have the potential to support the diverse needs of the targeted clients. The TCM model appears to be a superior care delivery model because it depicts most of the attributes promoted by the other approaches (Hirschman et al., 2015). Issues such as teamwork, continuous improvement, and provision of evidence-based care are critical whenever identifying the most appropriate model. The other lesson is that healthcare institutions should be ready to implement new changes and adopt different care delivery models depending on the issues affecting performance. By so doing, evidence-based ideas will emerge and eventually meet the needs of more patients with diverse needs (Nadeau et al., 2016). It will also be appropriate to understand each nursing care model can be applied in a specific healthcare environment depending on the targeted needs of the clients.
