Introduction

Sociology analyzes social factors influencing human nature, social relationships, and cultural reform through theoretical perspectives such as social dispute, symbolic interaction, and structural systems. The study incorporates systematic procedures of investigation and evaluation in a diversity research area, including mass media, the ecosystem, ethnicity, discrimination, class, transgression, and societal norms. Sociologists analyze various features of society to determine how they impact individuals on a local, regional, national, and ultimately international level.

Major Sociological Lenses

The symbolic interaction perspective presumes that individuals react to aspects of their environments based on an individual’s understandings that are ascribed to them. People can generate and change through socializing and symbolic relations with other individuals. Functionalism portrays society as a framework comprising core aspects that intend to satisfy the social and biological requirements of the members. Some examples of social structures or systems of opinions and actions addressing social needs include administrations, hospitals, the economy, and families. Sociopolitical ideology is a part of the perspective in social science that sees society as a field of inequity that breeds dispute and social transformation. Societal inequality occurs due to the structure of the community and its advantages to some individuals at the expense of others (Rohall, Milkie & Lucas, 2021). Some examples of social disparities include gender, social class, age, and ethnicity.

Different Aspects of Life

People can understand my schooling life through structural functionalism because it played a critical role. The structural-functional theory recognizes learning as a community’s most significant social structure. Teachers taught us about complying with regulations and respecting authority as among the key responsibilities of education institutions. Furthermore, respecting instructors and management can aid a learner in navigating the school setting (Rohall, Milkie & Lucas, 2021). Social conflict theory applied to me during my previous work; my manager always wanted to underpay me because they wanted to maximize their salaries. Symbolic interaction helped my family to strengthen and revitalize relationships through meaningful rituals, including family dinners and vacations.

Conclusion

Sociology seeks to clarify and comprehend the world, and it is crucial because it offers a structure for debating, explaining, and interpreting a series of actions. Individuals can comprehend how society operates, identify its flaws, find remedies, and put those answers into practice to improve it for current and future generations through sociological concepts and studies. People need social entities and groups to arrive at choices and take appropriate measures.
