Leadership is a concept that guides individuals to guide and mentor others to achieve their potential. People can develop their own styles to dictate the way they solve personal challenges and eventually succeed in life. This strategy is applicable in a wide range of settings to support the delivery of positive results. This paper gives a detailed analysis and description of the major aspects and consideration that will support the development of a superior personal leadership plan.

True North

My true north is leading others in a professional manner, applying ethical principles, promoting equality, and ensuring that positive results are recorded. This orienting point guides me to remain on track and ensure that all followers focus on the anticipated goals (George, 2015). I will know that I am following it by focusing on my colleagues’ responses and feelings. I will also consider whether the team records the targeted aims or not. It will be appropriate to consider emerging ideas and combine them to connect emotionally with all my followers. Sometimes I will sit back and reflect to ensure that all decision-making, critical thinking, and problem-solving processes support all key partners. I will be ready to apply such insights in my workplace and personal life. These aspects and considerations make it easier for me to know when I am following my true north.

My philosophy of leadership is simple and guides me to support the delivery of timely results. As a democratic leader, I will guide and allow my followers to be involved in decision-making processes and identify ideas that can deliver desirable results. I will inspire them to form new teams, remain ethical, share ideas, and consider new ways to improve performance (Tyran, 2017). This philosophy makes it easier for me to achieve most of the intended goals.

Intellectual Development

Leaders need to expand their intellectual abilities and acquire new strategies to organize their ideas and thoughts. I endeavour to deepen my intellect by reading widely and examining case studies of individuals who succeeded in life. These exercises will equip me with additional competencies for leading others. I will broaden my intellect my applying the acquired concepts in different settings and organizations (George, 2015). I will focus on the areas of ethics, law, and critical thinking since I have some weaknesses in them. I will study widely to acquire additional insights for pursuing my goals. I am planning to visit Google and Apple headquarters to develop additional strategies that can guide me to become a successful mentor.

Personal Discipline and Stress Management

Personal discipline remains a powerful strategy for guiding more people to achieve their potential. I will consider the power of a balanced diet, eat fruits, and drink enough water every day. I will engage in various exercises for around 50 minutes from Monday to Saturday. I prefer jogging, yoga, running, and football. I will also ensure that I get adequate daily sleep of 8 hours. However, sometimes find it hard to cope with such personal discipline aspects. I can manage stress by meditating and engaging in relaxation activities, such as listening to music and watching movies (George, 2015). Sometimes I sit quietly and meditate and engage in personal reflection. I also spent time talking to my friends, parents, family members, and my mentor. These activities make it easier for me to re-pattern my energy levels and become more energized.

Values, Leadership Principles, and Ethical Boundaries

The leading values defining my leadership philosophy include integrity, honesty, empathy, passion, and dedication. Such attributes make it easier for me to guide others and take them closer to the intended goals. I base my leadership on a number of principles, such as guiding others by example, focusing on the anticipated goals, listening to others, taking the issue of diversity seriously, and focusing on people’s demands and needs (Li et al., 2019). Some ethical boundaries guide my professional life, such as respecting others, promoting integrity, applying justice, and remaining honest.

Motivations and Motivated Capabilities

My extrinsic motivations include the achievements of my mentors, emerging theories on leadership, and case studies of successful business entities. My intrinsic motivations include my personal goals, philosophy of life, and my ethical principles. My overall motivations would be ranked in this order: intended goals, ethical principles, energy, fairness, philosophy of life, and achievement. Some of my greatest capabilities include guiding others, solving existing challenges, and focusing on the best goals (George, 2015). My developmental needs include team-building abilities, flexibility, and improved decision-making. My motivation capabilities include purposeful action and vigilance. Some leadership situations that optimize the use of motivated capabilities include times when individuals are unwilling to collaborate or when the intended goals are hard to achieve.

Personal Reflections

I sometimes meditate and engage in personal analysis. These practices amount to reflection and guide me to focus on greater achievements. I engage in spiritual practices to re-pattern my energy levels, such as praying and listening to gospel songs (Tyran, 2017). I also read the Bible for spiritual inspiration. I will continue with such exercises to find answers to existential questions and achieve my personal and religious goals.

Building Relationships

I always consider the best approaches to build better relationships with other people. Some of the most important individuals in my life include my immediate family members and my followers. I am completely open with my wife and children. I share various ideas with my parents and siblings when distressed. I can also turn to my religious leader since he or she can offer additional guidelines for overcoming the existing challenges (Li et al., 2019). I would consult some of my mentors when things get out of hand, such as my spiritual father and my supervisors. My parents have also been mentoring me to achieve my potential.

I have close friends who can offer emotional, moral, and financial support when necessary. They will provide the relevant counsel and advice to support the realization of personal goals. I identify my managers and supervisors as the best people to offer professional counsel and advice (George, 2015). I also network with professional colleagues by collaborating or communicating via different platforms, such as social media, to achieve new ideas for pursuing my goals. I would consider the need to form a like-minded group whereby likeminded individuals will and liaise to offer adequate support to each other.

Leadership Style

Democratic leadership is my preferable style that guides me to achieve the intended goals. However, I would consider an autocratic approach when under pressure to ensure that the outlined aims are recorded. However, I am considering the use of time-plans and mentorship strategies to avoid this form of practice. I will focus on the best ways to have flexible deadlines and promote practical procedures for ensuring that timely results are recorded. I also examine existing situations and apply the most appropriate style to deliver results. I am developing this ability by reading widely and acquiring new concepts for pursing the intended gains. I also allow my teammates to offer their incentives and ideas to develop a superior leadership style that can deliver desirable results (Li et al., 2019). I am developing my ability to use my power more effectively by providing timely guidelines and identifying what measures will work properly in various circumstances.

Leadership Development

Several experiences are essential to ensure that I develop a superior leadership style. The first one is working in units that require different managerial styles to support the delivery of positive results. The second experience is operating in a group characterized by individuals with diverse backgrounds. This strategy will prepare me for complicated situations or tasks (George, 2015). The third one is engaging in decision-making and problem-solving exercises to expand my leadership abilities.

Integration

The concept of integration will guide me to achieve my future goals as a leader. I will do so by combining my past experiences, family life, and concepts gained from my friendships and community life to establish a superior model for engaging others. I will apply the idea of cultural awareness and transform my leadership approach in such a way that it focuses on the needs of all involved individuals. Some of the sacrifices I will need to make include creating more time for continuous learning, interacting with different people, and engaging in complex managerial practices. The main trade-offs include avoiding working in areas I am used to and interacting with the same individuals all the time (George, 2015). These initiatives will prepare me for more challenging and demanding areas that will result in a desirable leadership style.

Leadership Purpose and Legacy

The purpose of my leadership is to guide all my followers to achieve every outlined goal and eventually maximize profitability. This attribute relates to my true north by ensuring that desirable gains are realized while promoting the notions of equality and justice for all (Li et al., 2019). The leadership approach also needs to resonate with my life story and passions as a Christian. I want to become a true person whose actions supported different family members, led to a successful career, guided others to achieve their potential, and took more friends closer to their goals. The concept also resonates with the attributes of a community founded on fairness and success.

The concepts of democracy and authenticity remain the primary guidelines for my leadership.
