This movie is about a young girl whose talent was discovered at a young age of eleven years and then exploited to success, fame and honor.

The movie is based on a true story of a girl called Jasmine Plummer who, at the tender age of 11years, was the first female player at the Pop Warner football tournament.

The girl changes from a completely inactive student at school to a very active and successful student in college.

For the whole history of 56 year tournament, which has always been dominated by the male students, a girl from a very humble background not only participates, but also becomes the champion in the game (Rabiger 15).

The movie brings out the theme of unity as the epitome of strength in the society. It is displayed by the unanimous students support to the team as well as the community.

The community enjoy the game, so they join together to cheer up the team throughout the tournament. This gives the girl a sense of love and care which she had initially lacked at the start of the movie.

In return, the girl gains determination and through her hard work and commitment to the game, she presents success to the team and community.

The theme of dedication to work can be observed in the movie. When the movie starts, Ice Cube is a very dirty man but as he becomes more dedicated to teaching the young girl the game, he becomes more dedicated and neat.

As the movie continues, he is later honored by the school and offered the position of the school coach, which he performs with passion.

On the other hand, the young girl proves to be very intelligent and so dedicated to the game, that she ignores the fact that she is the only girl in the team.

Her dedication gives the coach a chance to bring out the best in her to the level of national championship (Rabiger 35).

In the theme of feminism under the specification of feminism isolation, the society through its stereotype that the football tournament was meant for men had psychologically isolated the women from playing football.

Fortunately, this stereotype was broken by the championship of Jasmine Plummer and a new down for the women in the society was opened.

In the theme of feminism and power, the male has both the physical and the psychological tendency to criticize women.

In this case, in the beginning of the movie as it is observed sometimes in real life, some of the male individuals will criticize the girl because of male chauvinism.

However, the girl due to her resilience character was able to get over the criticism and even win over some of her critics to be her supporters because of her show of skills.

Through her talent, the young girl has been able to challenge the point of view of both women and men to the ability of women.

Lastly, the society has the point of expecting men to be better than women, this has the impact of holding back even those women that are better than men in some fields.

These facts were over powered by the abilities of the young girl in the movie (Rabiger 45).

Next we consider the use of cinematic language by the personnel filming the movie. In his efforts to display the abilities of the girl in her game she/he used the long short effect.

This is where the video is taken a distance away from the subject matter. It takes the full effect of the view to bring out desired effects to the viewer in events from the scene.

He may further use the short effect to take the video at a shorter range, for instance, when Ice Cube and the young girl go home together, we are able to view how focused they were on the game.

The cinematic language also uses varied lighting to imply the reality of the ground. For example, in the playing field the full lights of the day give viewers the impression of a real game taking place at the time of viewing, however, this is just a movie that may have been filmed a long time ago and is not happening currently.

Furthermore, he makes use of the sound effect to bring out the euphoria of success to the winners of the game when the team wins. This successfully manipulates the viewer to feel as if he is also winning (Rabiger 151).

Conclusion

In life, it is always necessary for someone to be able to identify his/her talent while young. This will make it possible to fully exploit his or her abilities especially when the person involved is well focused and determined.

There has always been need for someone to have a guardian in life as this makes it easy for that person to succeed.
