This is the process by which, a company runs its business operations to achieve a positive impact on the community. It can be achieved through contributing to economic development of the local community and the society. Millercoors the second largest beer manufacturer in the U.S has perfected this well. Its portfolio that exhibits vastly complementary brands in just about all major industrial segments can attest to this. It believes in driving a profitable industry growth through brewing quality beer with a community and environmental impact. The company cares about the communities and it has encouraged its customers to do the same. It supports the communities and employees in places that it sells beer (MillerCoors, p. 3).

Without great people who brew the beer and great communities to enjoy it the company cannot grow and that is why it has invested in corporate social responsibility. The numerous Community initiatives entailed include:

  1. Miller Lite Ride for arts, whose events have seen 36 recipients over the years, from the funds raised
  2. It has initiated the Lake Michigan Bradford Beach Revitalization Project (a private public partnership) that was aimed at having clean beaches.
  3. The volunteering (with Project C.U.R.E) that has helped to cater for the medically needy cases in the society. In fact, during the recent earth quake in Haiti the company collaborated to deliver supplies to quake survivors.

Millercoors has established guidelines that other companies can use to seek funds from it as long as they are going to assist the community. The company appreciates the contribution of knowledge, employee time and equipment to be just as important to helping the communities to flourish (MillerCoors, p. 2).

The Company and its employees support the communities through volunteerism. They have dedicated their time and resources to protecting the environment and beach restoration. In addition to these, they have provided food to the needy in the society. To avoid polluting the environment it has strived to make more beer using less water while recycling and reusing brewer waste (MillerCoors, p. 6).

It has committed itself to environmental sustainability by managing the grains used for beer manufacturing and the glass that holds the finished products. Through all these activities, the company has advanced its own sustainable development activities over the past years. In the end, the company has moved closer to the customers by achieving the set goals.
