Yousafzai was shot by a Taliban gunman in Swat District after passing an exam. The gunman tried to kill Yousafzai because of her activism but failed and ran away. Yousafzai was unresponsive and critically injured. Her state later got better enough for her to be moved to the Hospital in the United Kingdom. The attempt on Yousafzai’s life made people all over the world show their support for her. A group consisting of fifty Muslim religious leaders in Pakistan released a fatwa against the people who tried to murder her weeks after the endeavor. Governments, human rights groups, and feminist groups all around the world spoke out against the Pakistani Taliban. In response to these actions, the Pakistani Taliban representatives said more bad things about Yousafzai and hinted at a possible second attempt at assassinating her, which they thought was their religious duty.

So, Malala Yousafzai became an international symbol of the fight for girls’ education after she was shot in 2012 for opposing Taliban restrictions on female education in her home country of Pakistan. I chose her because she feels every young girl should attend school and become someone. I am connected to her because she is a young girl, and she knows how important it is for women to have an education. I would also like to have this dinner where she lives in London so she can experience Indian food. It is important to note that I have all of Yousafzai’s books.

Another notable case for me was when David Letterman interviewed Yousafzai for his Netflix show called Next Guest Needs No Introduction. She said that the Taliban’s dislike of women comes from a sense of being better than other people and is made worse by discovering “excuses” in society or literary works, such as by misreading Islamic teachings. Yousafzai says this about the people who hurt her: “I forgive them as it is the best revenge I can get.” Such a personality encourages me to be brave and strong to become a successful woman. I am sure that the example of Yousafzai serves as a great inspiration for many girls all around the world.
