Luke Combs is an American country music singer and songwriter. He was born and raised in North Carolina and started performing when young at Carnegie Hall. In his latest concert done on 18 February 2021, Combs chose live stream due to the current pandemic that limits public gatherings. However, this was a repetition of a show similar to the earlier one in a COVID-19-free country in 2020. Popper indicates that Luke Albert Comb’s musical inspiration emanates from his surroundings and his life. He demonstrates that it is through his music that the majority of his listeners and fans receive inspiration (9). Music is an influential and powerful tool that can influence people across the world through emotions.
The instruments used in the concert included guitars, a keyboard, Yamaha drums, and violin, enhancing the musical atmosphere. Crothers states that by singing along and cheering, Combs sounds inspirational to listeners (3). The audience is heard and seen applauding him whenever he makes important notes concerning his songs. Before starting any song, Luke Combs explains his message to the world and states how his music can change someone’s life. This justifies how he developed into the kind of man his parents anticipated. Combs elaborates on how a musician should write a song that benefits the community. Additionally, the incorporation of musical instruments makes music enjoyable to listen to.
The audience attending the concert included online subscribers as well as the audience at the hall. People were impressed by Comb’s performance, and the celebration on both sides was felt through ululations and online messages, respectively. Orosz states that a large number of people globally love country music (50). The entire concert was accomplished through a combination of songs such as ‘When It Rains It Pours,’ ‘Loving on You,’ and ‘Forever After All.’ People find entertaining and educative concerts exciting, therefore, Luke Combs’ audience could not get enough of his songs; they always wanted him to keep singing, as heard from the background. Orosz indicates that the more Combs sang, the more exciting and entertaining his music became (49). When someone feels they have not had enough music, there are moments when it can be considered medicine to the soul.
Additionally, having an audience who understands song lyrics works well for performers. Involving people in singing along made the entire concert enjoyable. Luke’s audience sang with him during the concert, hence, motivating him to keep entertaining. There were moments when Combs could let the audience sing along, and then he picked up at a certain point (Combs). The entire live stream sounds better and better until the end. Luke Combs should be considered an example to other country music artists, as introducing the audience to sing-along action reduces boredom and monotony throughout the entire performance.
In conclusion, country music is an exciting piece people should seek to listen to. Attending country music concerts is one of the life events that no one should ever miss. Life performance created an opportunity for Combs to interact with his fans. Several instruments accompany good music, as observed. Combs incorporates musical instruments to come up with the best tune, while the audience’s involvement in singing along creates a desirable atmosphere. Being a celebrated artist, an individual should focus on motivating, entertaining, and educating the world, thus, some of the remarks that Luke Combs stated during his performance were either motivational or educative. It would be better if other musicians learned the importance of making their music purposefully and not for their own benefit.
