Leadership and management are interrelated conceptions. The efficiency of management is significantly influenced by a leader, who directs his subjects or the team members, inspires, and encourages them. The successful leadership includes a certain share of management practices that are meant to control and to provide compliance with the rules.

Nevertheless, history knows the examples that are far from these idealistic images. But the consideration of the mistakes that took place in the past and orientation to the management and leadership that can support welfare and prosperity for all the community members can serve to benefit in each aspect of the social life

A leader is a person with a clear and right vision who is inspired and can inspire others. One of the most important goals of the leadership is the determination of the direction towards the goals, but without the proper and skillful management, it is hard to achieve anything. When management isn’t included in leadership, the lack of actions takes place or, on the contrary, the actions are too many, and they create a mess.

Management is a process of assessment, control, and implementation. Managers are engaged in the elaboration of the methods and strategies. In case of management doesn’t involve leadership, there is no inspiration for achievements. Management without leadership has now face, no identity, and no message behind it. Without a leader, all the activities, though well managed, are blank and meaningless.

While choosing between these two, it’s better to pitch upon management without leadership because it seems less harmful. Leadership implicates power. Without the right management and control, the power becomes overwhelming and usually leads in the wrong direction, destroying rather than creating.

Management without leadership is quite mindless and has no direction, but still, it is better because it is analytical and rational. It is much easier to make changes and improvements in situations caused by undirected management than recover the damages caused by blind and wrongly stimulated leadership rushing towards its goals despite all kinds of obstacles.

In the history of humanity, many cases of misleading by the wrong ideas took place. The Muslim states were often ruled by the people who had total control over the government and were influenced by ideologies that didn’t prove to be right.

For example, Talat Pasha, a ruler of the Ottoman Empire from 1913 until the end of the First World War, was responsible for the Armenian genocide in which millions of Christian Armenians were massacred. He was responsible for provoking the nationalist ideas that were religious in nature and represented an extreme level of intolerance towards cultural diversity.

First of all, a good political leader is a person who takes into account the differences in opinions and who is willing to serve for the welfare of all the people. A good political leader doesn’t impose his ideology but is open to a variety of ideas. Thereby leadership must include management, and it certainly must be managed.
