As the world advances and the nursing crisis persists, breakthrough medicinal techniques are necessary for long-term service provision in the healthcare industry. The portable monitoring device enhances nursing outcomes for physicians and nurses that handle an enormous patient population. The leadership approach to be implemented would be the servant style due to its numerous benefits. Johns Hopkins model will be employed upon implementation of the new technology. The model is expressively evaluated and addressed in this research paper.

The New Technology

Nursing practitioners observe patients while using portable monitor technology on other duties. Electrocardiograms and breathing patterns are recorded by portable equipment, which subsequently relay the signals to a centralized display. Nurses will be notified if there is an emergency scenario (Weller et al., 2018). In many institutions, caregivers check concentrations every hour; however, portable sensing technology allows caregivers to check and submit quantities whenever they choose.

Nurses get messages and alerts from portable gadgets, which might save lives. The manager approached training using a dummy customized to breathe and have a heartbeat. Nurses were equipped with the wearable device, which was connected to the dummy through a Wi-Fi connection. After configuration, the caregivers were shown what different alerts from the technology meant about the patient’s condition.

EBP Model

The John Hopkins framework is an impressive investigative method for medical decision-making that comes with easy-to-use materials to support personal or collaborative utilization. The model is customized to the demands of caregivers and implements the PET technique, which comprise: practice questions, evidence, and translations (Speroni et al., 2020). The framework guarantees that the current scientific research results and optimal procedures are immediately and effectively executed in inpatient healthcare. The framework offered friendly materials that helped in implementing the new technology.

Leadership Style

Servant leadership pertains to managers who inspire and drive people by creating connections and improving staff’s abilities. Furthermore, servant leadership suggests that a leader is naturally concerned with guaranteeing that every team member gets the facilities and expertise required to succeed. This style requires staying out of the spotlight and allowing a team to take recognition for accomplishments (Pawar et al., 2020). Additionally, it boosts interpersonal and team morale by inspiring and convincing others.

The nursing servant manager endeavors to understand their staff’s requirements and regularly inquires how to assist staff in resolving issues and promoting personal development. In addition, the servant leader sets an atmosphere by serving alongside the nurses. They share assignments with personnel, motivating and working with nurses. The leaders would answer phones and give similar progress updates to the rest of the staff. They display equality to members and work towards the same objective.

Conflict Management

The servant leadership style works effectively in addressing conflicts in the workplace. There was a conflict where two teams competed for resources resulting in an organizational dispute. The nurse servant manager assessed the situation to understand the controversy and promptly addressed the issue since the nurses are open and consider the leader equal. The problem was solved through dialogue, and the two teams could share the resources evenly.

Communication

Verbal communication was employed during passing crucial information and engaging in activities. The oral communication style is beneficial since it allows nurses to express their thoughts, suggestions, emotions, and ideas. Servant leadership removes the barriers which prevent mutual understanding between staff and managers. Nurses were expected to communicate confidently to create rapport with colleagues and patients.

Teamwork

Teamwork was involved in running the daily activities since it creates staff cohesion and minimizes nursing and medical errors. Furthermore, cooperation resulted in enhanced healthcare and greater patient satisfaction. Teamwork improved the implementation of the new technology as patient safety and efficiency improved. The workplace became happier and healthier, thereby reducing burnout among nurses.

Cultural Competence

Education, emotions, and capabilities that promote caring for individuals from other cultures are included in cultural competence care. Tradition impacts medical processes and how practitioners view sickness. The use of terminology and phrases that patients understand, and honoring patients’ traditional beliefs that contradict treatment plans, demonstrated cultural competency in the unit. Clinicians from underprivileged and ethnic populations were hired.

Power

Power helped in the implementation of the portable monitor technology. Leaders and managers organized training where nurses acquired basic knowledge on the use of the devices. The management was able to budget and purchase adequate equipment to ensure effectiveness in operation. Organizing staff into teams by the leaders was crucial in successfully implementing the new technology.

Politics

Politics were essential in the implementation of the new technology. Through politics, the nursing management was able to acquire enough funding from the state government to purchase the devices. Public awareness was made accessible through politics as several citizens were informed about the benefits of the new equipment. Furthermore, the facility received funds to improve infrastructure, like Wi-Fi routers that would be able to sustain the portable monitor devices.

Staffing

The staff played a significant role in implementing the new technology. The equipment had a goal of improving patient safety and overall service at the workplace. Nurses were trained to use the gadgets to make checking patients more effortless. The technology would alert caregivers on emergencies allowing them to react swiftly and effectively.

Conclusion

In conclusion, portable monitor technology was essential in offering quality services to patients. The devices helped nurses attend to other duties while monitoring patients’ health. A servant leadership style is a successful approach that promotes staff morale and offers prompt decisions to critical information. John Hopkins model plays a crucial role in ensuring that the new technology is effectively implemented and enhances patient care.
