Introduction

One of the finest departmental food chains in America is Kudler’s and these stores are a one-stop solution for all kinds of materials you need for making you a delicious meal at the end of the day. The products available at Kudler’s are preservative-free and they are really tasty in all senses. These two factors combined with great promotional strategies made Kudler a renowned company in the food market of America today (Gomez-Mejia & Balkin 2002).

The Beginning

Kudler was established by Kathy Kudler. She wanted to open a gourmet food shop, in which every ingredient that a cook will need will be available with all the cooking tools needed by a cook. She also made sure that her shop only kept the freshest materials and the prices were also reasonable. It was the perfect recipe for success and the Kudler’s shop was popular immediately. She opened her first shop in the year 1998. The first shop was the La Jolla Store. After only two years the shop expanded and opened another branch at Del Mar. In 2003 another shop opened in Encinitas. The company is now looking for a place to open their latest shop (Kerin, Hartley, Berkowitz, and Rudelius 2006).

The Divisions

There are a few divisions in every Kudler’s shop. The divisions are as follows:

  • Kudler’s Bakery: All the Kudler’s stores have their European Style Bakeries inside them. In the early morning, the efficient bakers of the shop prepare fresh bread, pastries, croissants, table loaves, and other things for the day. These items are made out of Old World Recipes. All of them are made from the finest Irish butter, chosen eggs, and unbleached flour, and no preservatives are used in the processes.
  • Kudler’s Meat Department: The meat department of Kudler’s consists of two branches, meat, and seafood. The products are supplied by certified organic producers and also go through a lot of quality checks before going out in the sales window. All the products are kept in fresh condition and they are prepared in a way that is ready to cook. In a Kudler’s Butcher shop one can find things like, dry and aged beef, poultry (like chicken, turkey, pheasant, quail, and duck), lamb, homemade sausages that guarantee the best taste, seafood, lobsters.
  • Kudler’s Produce Department: “In the produce department of Kudler one can find over 350 types of fresh fruits and vegetables, along with herbs and spices” (Kerin, Hartley, Berkowitz, and Rudelius 2006). A small example is that there are 16 different types of apples available in all the Kudler shops. “There one can find a wide range of tropical fruits from all over the World” (Kerin, Hartley, Berkowitz and Rudelius 2006). The herbs and spices that make the food delicious are also available in the shops. One of the very important is the Asian Specialty Produce department where one will find everything for preparing delicious Asian foods. Both organic and non-organic food items are available here and the customer is provided with enough choices to choose from based on his or her spending abilities (Gomez-Mejia & Balkin 2002).
  • Kudler’s Cheese and Dairy: Irish butter, organic milk, and a wide range of gourmet cheeses are available here. “There are over 250 varieties of cheese taken from 21 countries available in there. The cheeses are made from cow, goat and sheep’s milk” (Kerin, Hartley, Berkowitz and Rudelius 2006). Another specialty of them is that they can make any type of cheese is ordered.
  • Wine Department: Another important achievement of Kudler is their wine department, where one can find a wide range of domestic and international wines and spirits. There is a wine steward in every shop who can surely help the customers choose a wine from the stock. Moreover, the company holds monthly wine appreciation classes for the patrons to help them to understand the finer nuances of the wines available in the shops (Kerin, Hartley, Berkowitz, and Rudelius 2006).

Conclusion

Kudler is dedicated to its customers and always trying to improve its services. The company is committed to its customers by serving the best quality of food products for all kinds of culinary delights. They always take the privilege of thanking all their patrons and will try to improve their service to them in the future.
