In this assignment, you will create an annotated bibliography about crime prevention research and initiatives aimed at reducing juvenile delinquency and subsequent adult criminal behavior. You will continue to utilize the research developed in the annotated bibliography as you prepare for the assignments in Units 4 and 5.
Murray, S. (2009). The library: An illustrated history (ALA ed.). Chicago, IL: Skyhorse Publishing.
Murray’s book offers an in-depth look at the history of libraries since ancient times. He incorporates beautiful illustrations, quotations, and descriptions of numerous libraries
worldwide. This book states the history of the evolution of the book from era to era. It also serves as a primary source of information for research in library history. This is a good book that should be of interest to book lovers and librarians.
You should take some time and look at the points that you will respond to. You will be listing 8-10 sources on the topic aboveand preparing an annotated bibliography.
This week’s assignment should be submitted in APA format, which is at least 5 full pages of content, not counting the title page and the references page.
In Unit 1, you examined a study for a specific crime of your choice to explore the research method and findings. In this unit, you will research the crime you chose in Unit 2 and explore it further. You will complete the following:
Find 8-10 scholarly articles or studies concerning the crime published within the last 5 years, and create an annotated bibliography for each article.
Summarize the findings to identify behavior patterns, background, trends, discipline or rehabilitation, or other commonalities or differences.
Identify the primary theories that may cause that specific crime.
Examine the current articles or studies, and summarize a study that you would conduct to fill the gaps in the literature to address your specific crime that could help change policies, procedures, or legislation.
This information will lead into future weeks of analyzing crime, causation, theories, and policies to address the crime and issues.
Strengths: Your analysisneeds to be re-workedinidentifying the crime you selected from week 1, i.e.,and conducting the research as indicated in your annotated bibliography.( 8-10 scholarly articles- 5 years) .Report should be a summaryofthe findings of your research to identify patterns, trends and some theories that may have contributed to the criminal behavior related to the crime you selected.
