Ikko Tanaka is a well-known artist, competent in poster graphic and cultural designing production. The Japanese artist was born in 1930 and had a great interest in American jazz. However, his love of American Music did not compromise his work. ( The contemporary art in Japan). He has been instrumental in changing the artistic presentation due to the amazing playful nature of his designs and works. He worked in Japan’s remains and of World War II after its defeat. He strived so hard to bridge a developing gap in the Japanese elite class and the middle class through his works. Tanaka had a more sober approach to the innovations of his generation’s progenitors. In his bid to conquer the artistic world, he did not confuse his original works with the national drive to amalgamate the Japanese traditional artwork and the modern cultural display of his time. ( The contemporary art in Japan). He had no reason to prove his authenticity at the work of art but displayed imaginable skills with magnanimity beyond measure through his use of colors and form. He, therefore, expanded the scope of his country’s graphic designs and work of art through bold and intelligent use of color. Black as it is and white colors were in extensive use at the time and decorated aesthetically and simply refined.

His frivolous display of art by use of colors was incomparable in a bid to achieve his principal objective of the price of beauty. In comparison to Pollock’s work, he has more in common with Mondrian in the use of color to express his feelings and emotions beyond any doubt (Art and Culture,2006). He has ensured that the Japanese artistic tenets were not flouted through simplicity and the national form of geometry. His hues give expressive energy to art and depict communicable facts and ideas to the public rather than fiction.

Tanaka attached value to posters that produced easily comprehensible beauty. Tanaka ensured that the global linguistic barriers were of no consequences and hindrance in his works of imagery through expressive use and display of color, shadow, and depth of his effective, elegant and sophisticated presentation. His vision for performing arts was first experienced in his posters of Asian performing Arts institutes in 1981.

One of his major works included the bright and pristine work of nature and consisted of shapes and forms like squares and rectangles. These forms if studied critically provided unspoken language and could be interpreted to give an artist’s impression of the relationship between man, color, and shapes.

His work appeals to the international audience and is displayed in cultural centers the world over and is as well used as learning materials in universal learning institutions beyond the shores of Japan. His work is used as the pillar of modern culture and art in the world.

He is representing his cultural values by work of art by decorating his language artistically by infusing color and forms of nature. The design of the poster clearly gives the difference between Ikko’s work and that of Pollock. Whereas Pollock infuses several colors to his work, Tanaka chose to use only one type of color for every piece of drawing and used a second in varied tones to complement the reality and essence of his work. This simplified piece of art is easily comprehended by a wider audience as compared to a crowded colored piece of art. Ikko Tanaka has attained his core objective of presenting beauty in his work and his work of art appeals and transcends age, race, and gender.

In translating Ikko Tanaka’s poster, an artist would analyze the exemplified piece as nature’s provision and wealth in diversity.
