Authors Daniel J. Povinelli and Daniel J. Povinelli discuss the issue of understanding animals (Can Animals Empathize? 1998). They put forward various theories about whether monkeys conjecture and how they perceive the reflection in the mirror. Scientists put on different views about various primate species and their ability to feel empathy.
