A primary goal of the essay is to provide analysis of the new concepts, which start to gain popularity in logistics and transportation. In this case, two central concepts such as green supply chain management and using digital technologies for the maintenance of the supply chain were evaluated to acquire a sufficient image of the changes in the transportation industry. Moreover, significance and role of each concept in TLM field was discovered. Furthermore, the future of each concept was evaluated to determine its potential way of development in the TLM field.

One of the trends is the development of green supply chain management. It can be explained as the ability of logistics operations to remain ecologically friendly, such as recycling, reduction of waste, and lower emission from the transportation (Cosimato & Troisi, 2015). Moreover, this trend is rapidly gaining popularity in the world, as people become more caring about the environment and try to prohibit potential sources of pollution. It could be said that this trend plays an important role in the TLM field, as it is apparent that from the reduction of all the polluting activities, a company can receive financial benefits (Cosimato & Troisi, 2015). It is clear that the company will the reduce the amount of waste and distribute its resources more efficiently. Consequently, it is clear that the green supply chain management has a bright future in logistics, as using this logics and transportation approach will be beneficial for the society, company, and the environment. This feature will be developing, but it will take some time to implement all the necessary modifications. Furthermore, the companies have to pay more attention to total quality management to decrease the amount of waste.

Another trend, which is rapidly developing within the TLM field, is the usage of digital technologies to maintain and monitor processes in the supply chain. In this case, digital technology is understood as various technological advancements such as cloud storage and various software programs, which allow sufficient functioning of the logistics and transportation system (Dave, 2014). It could be said that technologies make the logistics easier; as now, it is even possible to track the location of the goods and transport. It could be said that it also has a substantial impact on the TLM field. It is beneficial in terms of cost-saving, as now, only one software is needed to monitor and combine all the necessary characteristics required for the sufficient functioning (Dave, 2014). It could be assumed that there is a high correlation between the logistics and development of technology. It is apparent that new approaches will be implemented, as the technology advances. Subsequently, this trend has a bright future, as it is essential to improve the working processes and enhance the speed of the transportation. However, sometimes the systems have a tendency to fail. It could be said that the problem will be solved with the help of technological advancement.

In conclusion, it could be said that both of these trends will have a substantial impact on the future on the TLM field. Usage of digital technologies and green supply chain management have a bright future, as they are beneficial for the company, society, and the environment. These two aspects determine the future of the logistics and transportation, as they are related to the critical issues, such a pollution and efficient distribution of resources.
