General Format Guidelines for the Final Research Paper Your will include a cover page with the title of your paper, your name, class number & name and term. Font size is 12 points (Times New Roman) and text must be double spaced. You will submit at least 5 full pages for your final research paper. Student will be penalized 10 points for paper below required pages. A list of references is required. Tables and figures are not required. Include in-text citations. Student will be penalized 15 points for not including in-text citations. References page, tables, figures, and cover page will not be counted towards the required 5 full pages. Please start page numbering at 1 on the page after cover page. Include sub-titles/headings. Break your paper into sections. Use APA formatting style and spell check. Submit your paper in a Word document file format. Not in a PDF format. You will create a poster from your final research paper. I have upload 2 templates you can use for the poster but you don’t necessarily have to use those but it should look similar regardless of the format. Your poster will should include the following: The title, your name and name of Instructor Introduction (A brief background to your research) Research question or hypothesis Methodology: What is the research process that you used? Explain how you did your research. What were your interview or survey questions in you used interviews/survey. Observations: What did you see? Why is this important? What did your research show? Or Findings: What did you find? Present your findings. Summarize your conclusions. Themes: Pull out themes in the literature and list in bullet points. Consider a brief narrative of what you learned – what was the most interesting/surprising aspect of your project? Add interesting quotes from your research. Data: Use your data to generate charts or tables. (Can be researched data). Images: Include images. Take your own or legally use others. Use APA! Recommendations and/or next steps for future research. Citations: Only list 3-5 on your poster.
