A male and a female who has the same ability are graduate students in psychology. Give what you believe to be the TWO best explanations for why the female drops out, and the male does not

Despite a recent drop in the number of dropouts, the subject matter still is an issue in high schools, colleges, and universities. Researches show that dropout rates are especially high among male students, yet female learners are not far behind (Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, 2014). However, pregnancy remains the most common reason for female students to abandon their studies and drop out of the higher education environment. Therefore, pregnancy, an oncoming marriage, or both can be viewed as the reason for the female student to drop out.

Speaking of the second possible reason for the female student to drop out, one may name the issues that are not necessarily related to gender. For instance, it could be assumed that the particular female student in the suggested scenario failed to adjust her time management strategy to the requirements of a graduate school, whereas the male student in the example did. Seeing that there is a considerable gap between the schedule of a college student and a graduate one (Hart, 2012), the specified problem might be the reason as well.

If you were in charge of the school system, what one piece of advice would you give to teachers? Why?

If I were in charge of the school system, I would suggest the teachers consider the idea of promoting gender equality principles as the basis of relationships among the students. The specified step will require the use of a different leadership strategy; particularly, the adoption of the transformative approach that will help alter the behavioral patterns of the learners should be suggested (Aspland & Patel, 2014).

Indeed, according to the existing evidence, the reinforcement of ethical principles alone is unlikely to work as a means of improving the learners’ behavior when used alone (Balyer, 2012). Instead, a combination of improved ethical standards and a strong leadership model that will serve as the prime example of proper conduct for students should be integrated into the education process.

Hence, it is suggested that teachers should adopt the leadership style based on the transformative approach. The specified strategy will promote the necessary behavioral patterns among learners and educators alike and help learners adjust to the changes in the environment comparatively easily.

Discuss how men or women are better leaders? You may only choose one gender for this discussion

One must admit that claiming either women or men to be better leaders than the opposite gender would be quite a broad statement. However, leadership qualities are not intrinsic and, therefore, need a proper environment to bloom. Therefore, the factors, which men and women are exposed to when growing up, have an essential impact on whether they will be capable of developing the skills required to be good leaders.

Since it is essential for the leader of a contemporary organization to be not only persistent and intelligent but also compromising and flexible, it might be argued that women have more opportunities to become successful leaders than men. Studies show that, while many male leaders accept the leadership approach that can be described as strategic, whereas female leaders tend to focus on the importance of social relationships (Bhatt & Kesari, 2015).

Although defining the strategy is essential, it will not work unless every single member of the team is capable of playing their roles and fulfilling their responsibilities. The emphasis on communication, which female leaders promote, in turn, contributes to a better understanding of one’s role in the team (Poudel, 2013). As a result, the required objectives are met successfully, and the concept of cooperation is promoted actively.
