Nurses should belong to professional organizations due to all the benefits likely to be accrued from such associations. Professional bodies are essential for professional growth and development as they avail nurses with the opportunity to showcase their skills. Involvement in the activities of various bodies such as management is an essential addition to the medical practice. The organizations increase the ability of nurses to volunteer for various activities which enables them to gain further experience in their practice (Williams et al., 2020). These opportunities also enable nurses to try new things and acquire new skills. Additional skills make nurses more competitive in the job market, exposing them to more opportunities. Professional nursing organizations are indispensable as they enhance the unity of professionals within the workspace, enabling them to explore their potential in full.

Nursing professional organizations are essential in availing of educational opportunities for nurses. The higher educational opportunities include scholarships for further studies, which enable nurses to specialize. Specification within one field of nursing is essential in enabling practicing nurses to serve their patients better in the wards. Specialization also offers nurses a sense of achievement and fulfillment, which ensures the nursing practice remains enjoyable (Williams et al., 2020). Educational opportunities also involve the opportunity for nurses interested in the teaching domains of nursing to inspire the next generation of nurses in the classroom. This is crucial in ensuring that the passion exhibited by the current nurses is transmitted to the next practitioners.

Professional organizations encompass nurses from various areas of jurisdiction, with some associations being national and others regional. Many nurses are a vital part of a network of professionals and this is good for the practice. Many people make lifelong connections with colleagues from other parts of the country and rely on each other for opportunities (Chiu et al., 2020). The practice of nursing within professional bodies ensures nurses can forge lifelong friendships through shared experiences. The networks created also better professional practices in addition to personal lives. Nurses in one area can inform qualified nurses in another area of opportunities, and enable them to increase their scope of practice.

Professional organizations are vital in advancing nursing as a profession as they spread the good news about nursing to the authorities. They ensure that the profession continues to be taken seriously in the rooms where policies and appropriate allocations are made. Professional bodies also assemble the views of nurses from across their area of jurisdiction to ensure that harmonization is achieved. This involves the creation of standards of practice that are binding to all their members. This ensures that there is minimal confusion in the practice of nursing. Furthermore, professional organizations protect their members whenever a nurse is falsely accused of their profession.

Research has become advanced with the onset of professional bodies. Organizations are responsible for funding healthcare initiatives that research various healthcare parameters which eventually determine how nurses operate. The research also allows aspiring nurses within that field to specialize as research enthusiasts, ensuring fulfillment. The research aspect promoted by the organization also ensures that the practice of nursing is evidence-based and effective in guaranteeing success. Research funding also allows student nurses to explore their potential and showcase their massive talents in the field. It allows for the expression of intellect and passion by students who are the future of nursing. Professional nursing bodies also enable nurses to lobby for better pay through organizations that make their agenda common.

Future Health Care System

Better management of cardiovascular disease will be the hallmark of future healthcare systems. Cardiovascular diseases are some of the most debilitating conditions at the moment, causing years of life lived with disability alongside mortalities. Future healthcare systems will be focused on addressing these conditions as a priority alongside other chronic illnesses. Cardiovascular diseases have been on the rise in the last few years due to the changes in lifestyle by various people. Cardiovascular conditions such as hypertension have become a norm in the world, and are chronic diseases that people have to live with their whole lives. Heart failure is also a crippling challenge to the healthcare system, causing the expenditure of huge amounts of funds and energy by governments and people. The future healthcare system must come up with innovative methods of entirely handling these conditions in a manner that achieves cure sometimes.

The promotion of prevention will be the focus of future healthcare systems due to the need to ensure some conditions do not occur in the first place. Prevention is a safer option for the cure of diseases, especially in an age where massive information is available about various conditions. Research has been much advanced in the last decade in medicine and is only likely to become better with the new methods being innovated (National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, 2021). Better research will enable healthcare advocates and organizations to identify the risk factors for various conditions before their occurrence, allowing the institution of mechanisms that prevent these diseases. The prevention of diseases will also rely heavily on technological advancements which continue to increase at an impressively alarming rate. The technological devices will be vital in monitoring the condition of the human body and offering suggestions to their owner to avoid harmful conditions that may jeopardize their health.

Direct-to-consumer gadgets are a recent development in medicine that has replaced age-old devices in the practice. Healthcare has immensely benefitted from the use of these gadgets as healthcare costs are reduced in the long run, enabling the diversion of healthcare funds to other fields. Gadgets required for healthcare monitoring alert their owners about variations in the condition of their body, preventing worsening conditions, earlier alerts, and crucial treatments (Gorman, 2019). Devices are already on the market, including the insulin monitoring and administering device used by diabetic patients to ensure their blood sugar levels remain within acceptable ranges. Devices are already being used as pacemakers in heart conditions, enabling increased survival from conditions that were regarded as killers in the past. Technological development has become a constant in the practice of healthcare in the last decade, enabling better performance of responsibilities and handling of the burden of disease.

Evaluation will become as important as innovation in future healthcare practice. The use of data in medicine has already become a common practice, eliminating the tendency to rely on myopic parameters. Reliance to the use of data will enable the practice of medicine to become objective, helping more people in the process (Ives Erickson & Pappas, 2020). The reach of medicine is better when statistics about various conditions are provided (Cvetković-Jovanović et al., 2020). The use of artificial intelligence and various simulation for various conditions is also a vital development in medicine and will guarantee better practice in the long run. Deep research into statistics and harmonizing factors for various diseases will become an integral component, ensuring medicine is guided and focused on excellence.

Contribution to the Future of Nursing Practice

In the future, I will pursue higher education to remain abreast with trends in nursing and to also acquire better skills for my patients. The practice of nursing is gradually evolving, and there will be a need for practitioners to become greatly educated in the field. Better education will ensure that I can focus on the part of nursing that excites me the most, hence focused specialization. Higher learning also means I will be updated about the various modifications in the practice of nursing. Trends in the practice of nursing will also become availed through the various seminars and workshops that will be organized. I plan to maximally benefit from such initiatives by availing myself and hearing the perspectives of fellow nurses.

Specialization in geriatric care due to the aging population is a goal I aim to pursue. The general trend of the US population indicates that the number of old people in the country continues to rise. This is partly due to better healthcare which has bettered the life expectancy of citizens, enabling them to live for longer. Improved healthcare also means diseases can be prevented earlier before their progress. I plan to devote my career to caring for these people during the sunset years of their lives, ensuring all their needs are met. Geriatric care will also become evolved to include the massive use of technology and such specialization will be fulfilling in addition to bettering the lives of many people.

Learning more languages due to the need for bilingual nurses in the future will become a priority. The world became a global village years ago with the advancement of technology. This development continues to break barriers and amaze all the people who thought that was the end. Nurses alongside other professionals will be required to handle clients from various parts of the world, even globally. Virtual surgeries are already a reality across the world, with qualified surgeons providing instructions for practitioners in other parts of the world. I plan to learn more languages to increase my scope of practice, and to ensure I reach more people in the future.

Increased leaning towards the use of technology in practice is an invaluable goal in contributing to future practice. Technological advancement has already become a reality in many fields, and nursing will undoubtedly follow the same trend. Technological development is occurring at a very fast speed and an unfocused nurse can remain behind. Technology implies the use of better communication methods to reach more people and the use of improved monitoring mechanisms. This will ensure that more people experience the magic touch of nursing in the world, alongside improved care. The use of technology in a manner that benefits my patients will offer fulfillment and increase my dedication to the practice.

Conclusion

Involvement in nursing organizations will be the hallmark of my contribution to nursing practice due to the need for better advocacy at the tables where decisions are made for nurses. Nursing organizations present professions with the opportunity to coalesce together under an umbrella body that intends to meet their needs. Nursing organizations are the drivers of innovation and invention in the future, through research. Involvement in organizations will also enable me to impact the lives of my colleagues positively, presenting their demands and petitions to higher authorities.
