Introduction
The philosophy developed by Friedrich Nietzsche is referred to as Nietzscheanism and it politically and intellectually influenced every part of the world during the beginning of the 20th century. Nietzsche mostly believed in and utilized topics like social criticism, psychology, religion, ontology, epistemology and morality. Although he directly did not exhibit his philosophy, it is quite evident from his common view of our world which can be estimated through his works, particularly The Genealogy of Morals. Here he incorporates his idea of government where he indicates that government or State is a prison for human being and here human being is encaged as he was in the State, as part of his taming process. (Nietzsche, 2004, 51) It should be noted that governance of today has come a long way from the thought parameters of Nietzsche.
Nietzsches State
The perception of man, from Nietzsches point of view is more animal like rather than humane. He feels, Man has for too long regarded his natural proclivities with an evil eye, so that eventually they have become in his system affiliated to a bad conscience. (Nietzsche, 2004, 53) Thus, it is no wonder that government according to him would be a torture rather than bliss or an act of negotiation among the members of the society. He proclaims, the fitting of a hitherto unchecked and amorphous population into a fixed form, starting as it had done in an act of violence, could only be accomplished by acts of violence and nothing else. (Nietzsche, 2004, 47) This form of State or government is completely unacceptable in this day of democratic welfare system.
Government of today
The major aspect of modern democratic government or any fair government is its social codes. This is the frame work or platform that helps the individual to build up their respective social standpoint and humane qualities. It is expected from every members of the state to show commitment towards these codes with the conduct of a professional particularly in the field of democratic governance. This is the fundamental issue for any machinery to perform properly with a social perception. These codes can be viewed as a formulation of personal responsibility where the most identifiable significance being the mode of commitment that an individual possesses. In general sense the code possesses all aspects of professional situation both as a human and a proficient member of the state. It is obvious that a social structure of a government is formed with human aspects and for a state to become humane it is important the human aspects are indulged into following the code. It is imperative that these codes of social liberal democracy would be subjective and open to individual interpretations but it should also be noted that in such incident these codes or phrases or word of the codes would be judged upon individual approach of humane solution.
Analysis
For a democratic society with its democratic form of government system it is but an obvious choice to opt for a society that is predominantly color blind. The basis norm of a democratic society is to provide its mass with a structural form that offers equality in terms of justice and social characteristic. It is an unwanted phenomenon but it is also extremely true at the same time that racism is a curse that exists among us whether we like it or not. The presence of racism is well documented in many societal domains including workplace, school, health care, and housing. It is very peculiar to consider racism is an ideology where humans are separated into various groups in the belief that some people are superior because they belong to a particular ethnic or national group. It could be summarized that racism is the result of having negative judgments, beliefs, and feelings towards certain identifiable groups. However, it is true at the same time that any democratic government of today is strictly against such movement otherwise the government would not survive in the long run, whereas, Nietzsches concept of state fuel such concepts.
Today, the states that marginally follow the concept of Nietzsches state are termed as Fascist and for reasons too. Political power sometimes is achieved out of situational advantage. The greatest racist in history Adolph Hitler did exactly that. He incorporated racism within the cross section of the German mass against the Jews though various methods like using media to his benefit and through overwhelming oratory. Germany was passing through a phase of humiliation and unemployment with economic downfall after the defeat of First World War. This is where Hitler used Nietzsches concept of state or the basic philosophy of governance and formed a justification that caused the blood thirsty holocaust of WWII.
Conclusion
Nietzsche had a very evocative style and also he often made outrageous claims due to which his philosophy generated universal passion. Reviewing Nietzsches earliest works we find that he emphasized on an opposition towards Dionysian and Apollonian impulses of art. His major currents included figure of Dionysus, will to power, a claim that God is dead, radical perceptions and the division between the moralities of master and slave. His work on the thought of eternal recurrence (Mencken, 102) is sometimes also considered to be the pride and glory of Nietzschean philosophy. Nevertheless, todays state or government reject such principals and contradicts the path shown by Nietzschean philosophy in The Genealogy of Morals.
