Fourth Journal: Psychological Concepts Assessment
The purpose of this final reflection is to: (1) offer you an opportunity to reflect on how your understanding of biological psychology has grown and changed over the course of the semester, and (2) assess your attainment of the course objectives. As a reminder, these objectives are:
a. Demonstrate an understanding of central research questions, theories, and methodologies used in the study of biological psychology.
b. Demonstrate an understanding of the main areas of biological psychology.
c. Develop skills to evaluate critically how development is influenced by contextual factors including social class, ethnicity, and family processes.
d. Develop the ability to identify, analyze, and synthesize biological psychology concepts and apply them to explain everyday events.
In order to do this, please address the following questions in a comprehensive paper (i.e., it should be an essay, not bullet-points). For full credit, make sure to: (1) be detailed and thorough in your reflection, providing specific examples from your life or the world around you, and (2) define and describe relevant concepts from the course. For full credit, make sure to connect to at least TWO concepts covered in this class over the course of the semester. You should define/describe the concepts and then explain how the concepts connect to your everyday life. For example, if you say “I can see myself using a lot of this information in the future,” make sure to elaborate. Specifically WHAT might you use and HOW do you see yourself using it?
Papers usually end up being approximately four-to-five pages in order to adequately address the prompts. Please include in-text citations and a references page at the end including ANY resources that you cite throughout (e.g., your textbook, websites, YouTube videos, etc.). See the APA resources module for more information and examples.
