For this weekly application I’m asking you to take a macro-level, sociological a

For this weekly application I’m asking you to take a macro-level, sociological approach, to investigate the relevance and impacts of specific social institutions Politics/Government, Religion, and Education. Rather than examining how specific institutions (like Laurel Ridge or your local government) impact your lived experience (micro), please reflect on some of the broader implications to Politics, Religion, and Education as social institutions.
First, review the Findings and Insights from the World Values Survey and compose a one paragraph summary of your key takeaways, relative to Politics, Government, and Religion.
Next, select at least 5 different news or information sites online or in print to examine. Using at least 3 concepts detailed in our readings or in the weekly module, including the World Values Survey (theoretical perspectives, issues in eduction, politics in the U.S., power and authority, secularization, as examples), examine and analyze the ways Education, Religion, and Politics are framed and discussed in our mass media (specific to the sources you reviewed). Think about the ways each of these institutions acts as an agent of socialization in our lives and generate at least one conclusion you might draw about your own experiences from your analysis. For example, how are these institutions functioning (as an interrelated system) or how are these institutions in conflict (as in competing or exploiting) and how is this represented in the media and what impact does this have on your life.
For your Weekly Application, first list websites (or print material) you investigated to gather your information. I expect you to review at least 5 sites/sources. You do not need to create a works cited, just a list of online sources you reviewed. Be sure to make connections using your sociological imagination (use sociological concepts and ideas to support your analysis).
