Doctoral education for nursing practice can be seen as the background for further growth and evolvement of the practice as well as the entire U. S. healthcare system. Doctoral nurses have the necessary skills to implement various projects and feel confident about their ability to reach the goals they set, which is critical for successful implementation (Edwards et al., 2018). As a DNP-student leader, I will use the strategies that stem from the eight essentials of doctoral education for advanced nursing practice. First, I will make sure that I choose the right leadership style to ensure the development of the appropriate working environment where the members of my team can use their potential to the fullest and achieve the established objectives (Henry, 2017). I will try to inspire my team members to go the extra mile by being knowledgeable and supportive, which are important characteristics of a collaborative leader. Another feature that will help me be an effective collaborative leader is my accountability and good problem-solving skills.

I will discuss the challenges people encounter when completing tasks or communicating with each other and ask for their views on the matter and the solutions people think of. I will make sure that all voices are heard by facilitating discussions that may include brainstorming. Clearly, I will use advanced technology to establish effective communication channels (reporting, instant messaging) and patterns based on the available information system. Another strategy I will use is the provision of clear instructions and descriptions of the roles without any ambiguity to create a collaborative environment where people understand their responsibilities. In order to build a community rather than a group of unrelated people, I will help the team members become closer by being open to each other, supporting each other, willingness to develop proper relationships in cross-functional settings rather than focusing on a limited group of colleagues.
