Assignment goal:
Discuss the origins of Ethnic Studies.
Relate what you learned about Ethnic Studies to you and your life or interests.
Discussion purpose:
The purpose of this discussion is to take what you learn about Ethnic Studies and describe what meaning/significance it has for you. This will also help to process the affective (emotional) and cognitive (mind) and put it into conversation with the rest of us. Here we create a space where we start from where we are at in our learning and initial exposure to the subject.

Please read the Ethnic Studies materials and watch the video from Dr. Allyson and reply to the following on discussion board #2:
Tell us what resonated with you in the video for this week. If you don’t feel you related to it just share something you liked or that stood out to you
In the Ethnic Studies readings: tell us 2 things that resonated/stood out (or that “spoke to you”, that impacted you in some way, that surprised you, that you learned, that you knew already but “spoke to you” differently, etc) in the Ethnic Studies readings.
***PLEASE NOTE: From this discussion board forward you all will alternate when you respond to someone else’s post on the discussion board. This week: ETHN 107-3464 students will pick one person to respond to by Tuesday, Feb 6th at 1159pm. When you respond be sure to discuss what resonated/stood out to you about their post. Next week HIST 107-3465 students will respond to someone else’s post, so for this week HIST 107-3465 do the initial post and that’s it.
