Description of the problem: The problem is that many educational leaders experience burnout in their careers due to lack of support for work-life balance, managing the requirements of leading a school or district, handling situations of grief or trauma, and there are no specific programs that support these leaders thereby increasing longevity in the career field. There are no policies in place that call for support of Educational leaders to take part in wellness programs, district accountability for providing support for mindfulness for their leaders, or specific guidelines for time off when leaders experience trauma or grief. I am proposing specific guidelines and policy be put in place to support educational leaders. Mentoring programs also provide support with decision making and implications for all leaders to take part in a collaborative group to support each other.
