Relationship between motivation and behaviour
Motivation is an internal state of condition (described as need, desire, or want) and serves to activate goal oriented behaviour and give it a direction (Huitt, 2001, ¶1). Factors that alter one’s behaviour are perception, emotions, memory and cognitive development. People respond to increasing complex events (stimuli) in the environment; they identify thoughts, emotions, dispositions and behaviour. Attributions both internal and external make individuals to perceive probability of success (expectancy). They make use of their success to obtain reward which helps them achieve goals.
How motivation is exhibited in behaviour
Motivation is viewed as the means that transforms behavioural intentions. Volition is taken as the means that transforms intentions to actual behaviour. Motivation and volition refer to the setting and pursuit of goals. In both cases, self regulatory effort is need. Self efficacy is a form of inspirational and volition construct. Self efficacy is a conviction that an individual has the ability to act in a particular manner to accomplish a certain goal. Self efficacy affects the human’s functions. As regards choices of behaviour Individuals will take jobs which they can succeed in. Individuals in most cases shy away from responsibilities where their self efficacy is low while they readily undertake those tasks where their self efficacy is high. Thus people with high motivation are likely to make more of an effort and persist longer. This enables them to obtain mastery expectations. At the job place highly motivated persons assume the superlative course of action and have a wider synopsis. The ones who have low motivation are prone to poor planning, increased stress; they are erratic and unpredictable. Motivated people perceive failure to result from external forces. While their counterpart’s attributes fail to low ability. In organizations the workers who are motivated usually have high morale and hence they become more productive. Self motivation allows an individual to change risks affecting them. For example regarding health matters an inspired person will device tactics that will enable them curb their problems.

The gem cannot be polished without friction, nor man perfected without trials. Every human being faces challenges it is upon them to find means to survive for the fittest, they do this by stirring themselves.
