The disparities between compensation and job opportunities in organizations have become a plague that makes it hard for both men and women to bring their full selves to workplaces while achieving their desired career progression. Due to this, entities have been forced to come up with solutions that can help reduce the issue and ultimately eliminate it (Bavel, 2022). Some of the actions that should be taken to handle these disparities are discussed in this post.
Actions
The first action is for an organization to educate its employees on gender bias. When workers are not informed about an issue, they cannot make changes (Bavel, 2022). Therefore, showcasing examples and going through exercises will help demonstrate the disparities between compensation and job opportunities. Clear education concerning the salaries and opportunities each person has in the organization, regardless of their gender, will ensure they bring out the best in the workplace.

This can be done by removing some wording in the job description that can affect those who apply and get hired. Some words such as rockstar, competitive and outspoken should not be used when describing a responsibility or role because they can have connotations in the world beyond (Bavel, 2022). Additionally, feminine tones such as loyal, collaborative, and cooperative should be avoided. In general, ensuring the wording is natural for both men and women ensures equality between compensation and job opportunities.
