In the form of a paragraph, identify 7 foundational steps of the problem-solving process as discussed this semester.

Open a Word document.
Type your name and date at the top of your page.
Respond to each of the following 8 questions with a typed, one-half page, single spaced response stated in paragraph format with 12 pt Times New Roman font. When finished, upload your typed responses here (in the Assignments section of CougarView). Please use MLA format for references and works cited slide.
1) In the form of a paragraph, identify 7 foundational steps of the problem-solving process as discussed this semester. Then, explain how you might apply each step of this process to solve a complicated problem (for example, how to solve a complicated algebra problem, or how to synthesize all the material you have researched for an end-of-term paper).
2) Information competency is the ability to determine what information is necessary, and then to locate, evaluate, and effectively use that information. What are 5 key considerations when implementing the process of identifying, evaluating, and effectively using academic sources? How can this process impact the acquisition of positive results when completing college assignments? Please identify a sample college assignment. Then, discuss how each stated consideration might be applied.
3) Define the terms Growth Mindsets as postulated by Carol Dweck. Then, identify a scenario applicable to college students in which the concept of growth mindsets can be applied. Write a description for the scenario. Then, state and discuss at least five actions that would demonstrate a growth mindset in the scenario described.
4) Define the terms Design Thinking. Within your response, identify three core activities of design thinking and discuss how human-centeredness impacts these activities. Next, identify a scenario applicable to college students in which the concept of design thinking can be applied. Write a description for the scenario. Then, state and discuss at least 5 corresponding actions that apply these activities to a real-life scenario.
5) Identify a leader in the design thinking field and a design product created by this individual. State how the concept of human-centeredness was incorporated into the product design and what impacts this product has had on the audience. Also, discuss how this product design implementation differs from the traditional problem-solving process in your response.
6) Identify and discuss one concept learned this semester but not covered on the midterm. Then, state how you will apply the principles learned to a learning experience on campus or in the community.
7) Discuss the aspects of viability, feasibility and desirability in design thinking production. How does prototyping fit into this form of innovation? Give an example to support your response.
8) Language is an important aspect of formulating growth mindsets. In the form of a paragraph, identify a scenario in which growth mindsets can be applied and discuss what types of language can be used to formulate a growth mindset for the stated scenario. Please illustrate as you formulate your response.

Journaling Prompt
Reviewing the mindfulness skill described by White (2018, p, 74), Focus on Five, select a task from the list in the book or another one of your choosing. Set a timer and engage fully in that task for 5 minutes. If your thoughts begin to wander to other things, simply bring yourself back to the task at hand. A few suggestions are: folding laundry, washing dishes, cleaning windows, knitting, digging in the dirt.
Text from White 2018 p.74
FOCUS FOR FIVE
Focusing takes you away from the worries and tasks that cause you stress. You can choose to focus on whatever you are doing at the moment or on something else. First, decide what to focus on. Choose a mundane task that needs doing,
like organizing your desk if you’re at work or sorting laundry if you’re at home.
It’s important that the task is simple and worthy of your attention so you don’t get distracted. Second, set your timer for five minutes. Then go deep, focusing only on the activity at hand. When time’s up, go back to your original task with a clearer mind and something checked off your to-do list.
Try these activities, and circle which ones work best for you:
Reorganize your wallet.
Water your plants.
Pay a bill.
Schedule a doctor’s appointment.
Clean out your car.
Balance your checkbook.
Hang up your clothes.
Clean five windows.
Repot a plant.
Sharpen all your pencils.
Sort through your pens and toss those that don’t work.
Sew on a button.
Clean out your purse or backpack.

Mindful Meditation Prior to Journaling – Spiritual Well-being and Meditation
According to the Wellness Councils of American (2015), “human spirituality involves nurturing your conscience in times of stress through inner resources of patience, forgiveness, compassion, optimism, faith, integrity, and many more.”

Journal Prompt
After reading the reflection above from the Wellness Councils of America (2015), and actively participating in the meditation, write in your journal about your experience with this meditation. What do you think the author meant when he wrote, “human spirituality involves nurturing your conscience in times of stress through inner resources of patience, forgiveness, compassion, optimism, faith, integrity, and many more.” What did you experience with the mindful spiritual meditation? How can focusing on breathing and positive thoughts help us manage stress?

You will analyze the archetype, ritual, or trope using images of your choice from media texts of your choice.

The purpose of the assignment is to conduct a close textual analysis of a particular:
1. a character archetype & their transformation OR
2. a coming-of-age ritual OR
3. a narrative trope that leads to transformation
Assignment Description
You will analyze the archetype, ritual, or trope using images of your choice from media texts
of your choice. The focus should be on the transformation of the character or the representation
of the transformation itself (the ritual or trope).Your analysis should make an argument about how the media/film/TV series visually and cinematically
represents the character/ritual/trope visually and cinematically. In other words, you’re not just analyzing
the narrative or the character but conducting a close textual analysis of the images. This means you are
taking into consideration the bodies on screen, the location of the action, how lighting, sound, color,
frame composition, shot compositions, body movements, camera angles and movements, props,
costumes, makeup, background, facial expressions, and other production/editing techniques work.
Think critically and carefully about your media selections and images – they should not be random. Still,
instead, you should selectively choose examples that are relevant to your analysis and will strengthen
your argumentRequirements
1. Choose 1 trope, archetype, or narrative device frequently portrayed in Teen Media
2. Choose 5 films or series to compare
A. At least 1 must be assigned film/TV from class
B. At least 1 must be analyzed in at least one of your assigned course readings
C. The other 3 films/series can be your choice
3. Minimum 2 images per film/series
Format
This is not a production course; therefore, you are NOT being evaluated on editing skills. You can do
this using PowerPoint to insert your images and record the audio directly into your presentation;
however, if you would prefer to use Adobe Premiere, iMovie, Final Cut Pro X or another video editing
software you may choose to do that so long as you follow the requirements outlined above.

In the 1950s, two new styles developed in response to the lightning-fast, extra-complex style of be-bop. In both of these styles, there was a semi-concious effort to “rein in” some of the excesses of be-bop, an effort to bring jazz back to something that a bit more “listener friendly.”
The “cool school” was the first post-be-bop movement. It took influences from European classical music and sought for a much more reserved, subtle approach to the “hot” style of be-bop. Shortly after this, we saw several musicians try to harness some of the energy and excitement of be-bop, but present it a way that was easier on the audience; this style was called “hard-bop.”
“Killer Joe” (by the Art Farmer and Benny Golson Jazztet [recorded in 1960]) and “Moanin’” (by Art Blakey and The Jazz Messengers [recorded in 1958]) are “textbook” examples of hard-bop. Notice the soulful, almost gospel-like quality to tunes songs. This is hard-bop at its best!
“Line for Lyons” (by the Gerry Mulligan Quartet [featuring Chet Baker] [recorded in 1953]) and “Boplicity” (by Miles Davis [recorded in 1949]) are “textbook” examples of “cool” jazz. Notice the timbre and overall “mood” of these tracks. This is cool jazz at its best!
Which of these tracks do you like the best? Why?Do you also like the other track in this same style (hard-bop vs. cool), or is this a “one off” for you? What do/don’t you like about the other example in this style?
Compare each of these styles with the be-bop examples you heard earlier (“Donna Lee” and “Salt Peanuts”). Do you think this music is more “listener friendly” than be-bop? Why/why not? Can you cite specific things that separate be-bop from these recordings?

Develop an 8–14 slide PowerPoint presentation with thorough speaker’s notes designed for a hypothetical in-service session related to the improvement plan you developed in Assessment

For this assessment, you will develop an 8–14 slide PowerPoint presentation with thorough speaker’s notes designed for a hypothetical in-service session related to the improvement plan you developed in Assessment
For this assessment, build on the work that you have done in your first two assessments and create an agenda and PowerPoint of an educational in-service session that would help a specific staff audience learn, provide feedback, and understand their roles and practice new skills related to the safety improvement plan you created
The final deliverable for this assessment will be a PowerPoint presentation with detailed presenter’s notes representing the material you would deliver at an in-service session to raise awareness of your chosen safety improvement initiative focusing on a specific patient safety issue and to explain the need for such an initiative. Additionally, you must educate the audience as to their role and importance to the success of the initiative. This includes providing examples and practice opportunities to test out new ideas or practices related to the safety improvement initiative.
Be sure that your presentation addresses the following, which corresponds to the grading criteria in the scoring guide. Please study the scoring guide carefully so you understand what is needed for a distinguished score.
Describe the purpose and goals of an in-service session focusing on a specific patient safety issue.
Explain the need for and process to improve safety outcomes related to a specific patient safety issue.
Explain to the audience their role and importance of making the improvement plan successful.
Create resources or activities to encourage skill development and process understanding related to a safety improvement initiative.
Communicate with nurses in a respectful and informative way that clearly presents expectations and solicits feedback on communication strategies for future improvement.
There are various ways to structure an in-service session; below is just one example:
Part 1: Agenda and Outcomes.Explain to your audience what they are going to learn or do, and what they are expected to take away.
Part 2: Safety Improvement Plan.Give an overview of the current problem focusing on a specific patient safety issue, the proposed plan, and what the improvement plan is trying to address.
Explain why it is important for the organization to address the current situation.
Part 3: Audience’s Role and Importance.Discuss how the staff audience will be expected to help implement and drive the improvement plan.
Explain why they are critical to the success of the improvement plan focusing on a specific patient safety issue.
Describe how their work could benefit from embracing their role in the plan.
Part 4: New Process and Skills Practice.Explain new processes or skills.
Develop an activity that allows the staff audience to practice and ask questions about these new processes and skills.
In the notes section of your PowerPoint, brainstorm potential responses to likely questions or concerns.
Part 5: Soliciting Feedback.Describe how you would solicit feedback from the audience on the improvement plan and the in-service.
Explain how you might integrate this feedback for future improvements.
Remember to account for activity and discussion time.

What is a public policy meeting? A meeting held by public or governmental officials to discuss and deal with public problems or issues, communicate and disseminate information, and engage in problem-solving, policy change strategizing and/or decision making. Open public policy meetings are when the public’s business is conducted in open, noticed meetings, where the public, lobbyists and members of the news media have the right to attend, record, broadcast, and in some cases participate in the meeting. An open meeting agenda is usually posted in advance and meeting materials may be made available.

Theory is described as “a systematic explanation of an event in which constructs and concepts are identified and relationships are proposed and predictions

Theory is described as “a systematic explanation of an event in which constructs and concepts are identified and relationships are proposed and predictions are made (McEwan & Wills, 2023, p. 24). The basic types of theory mentioned in this week’s reading are: factor-isolating theories, factor-relating theories, situation-relating theories, and situation-producing theories. All of these theories are designed to describe, explain, predict or prescribe phenomena (McEwan & Wills, 2023, p. 40).
Factor-isolating theories, also known as descriptive theories, describe and observe concepts. They are produced by descriptive research techniques, which include concept analysis, case studies, and literature review (McEwan & Wills, 2023, p. 40). This theory does not explain the cause, but rather the narrative.
Factor-relating theories, also known as explanatory theories, explain how and why ideas are related, and the correlation to one another. In contrast to the descriptive theories, explanatory theories address the cause and effect. In this theory, different variables that contribute to an occasion are assessed.
Situation-relating theories, or predictive theories, aim to predict future conclusions. This week’s reading mentioned examples of predictive theories, such as the caregiving effectiveness model (CEM), in which the caregiving effectiveness is dependent on a number of different factors, which collectively depict the impact of the effectiveness (McEwan & Wills, 2023, p. 41).
Lastly, the situation-producing theories, otherwise known as the prescriptive theories, suggest the measures that is needed to be taken in order to reach a desired goal. This theory guides nurses to critically think and to make clinical decisions for their interventions.
Theory is important in nursing because it provides structure and organization. It is what differentiates nursing from other professions that involve caring. Theoretical principals guide the nursing practice by offering a systematic approach and encourages the use of critical thinking in order to achieve a desired outcome.
