You have reached the final set of activities within the Career Blueprint! Think

You have reached the final set of activities within the Career Blueprint! Think about all you’ve achieved between your first semester as a W. P. Carey student to now. How has your effort guided the direction of your career? Within this workbook, you have explored career options, reflected on your skills and strengths, and identified what you value the most in the workplace as an employee.
The purpose of the final stage of the Career Blueprint is to help you goal set at large as you head towards graduation and enter the marketplace. It is not necessary to have the dates be completed within the next few weeks, rather assist you in setting a realistic timeline of completion as you approach the end of your academic experience. Remember, you’ve been working on the “tell me about yourself” in many different ways and at various channel points, so any past, present, or future, meeting type is applicable as it is part of your journey.

The objective of this assignment is to support student driven research

Overview
The objective of this assignment is to support student driven research and foster collaborative learning while exploring the cultural and historical significance of the mask and world drama. Students will conduct research on independent basis and then share their individual projects with other class members in a canvas driven format.
Instructions and Important Steps:
1) Using the internet/world wide web, research “masks” or a “specific cultural style of theatre” as your subject prompt. You may research a mask or performance art from any culture, genre or time period. You may select a mask or style of theatre that is significant within your own family history or simply a theatrical style that you find particularly interesting.
2) Research and find photographs that you think illustrate the mask or theatre style in active performance. If possible, included photograph of masks, makeup and costumes that significant and show the detail of the work.
3) Select, copy and paste these photos and documents. – Create a Power Point Presentation or Google Slides (Don’t go above 7-10 slides)
4) Using the research and facts collected, create an “easy view” presentation. Please remember that you will be “sharing” these projects with classmates and the information should be reader friendly with ability to be shared without too much difficulty.
5) Please document your sources in order to add a citation page at the end of your project.
Mask/World Theatre Performance Should Include:
Clear Title Heading:
Basic History: Origins of mask/performance style and cultural significance
Any Important Facts or Aspects: Edit and Bullet this Information for easy read
Costume, Mask, Makeup facts [products used]
Elements of Music and other spectacle
Performance Space
DON’T FORGET TO USE CLEAR SIGNAGE-Please “Cite” your works on the final Title Page.
Assignment Posting and Share:
**Save Project Assignment as a PDF file and post in “Assignments” under Mask/World Theatre assignment in Canvas
** Post your project in the Threaded Discussion board (pdf) and view the projects of other students as they become available.
(It is important for all students to take notes on “project sharing” these notes may be required as a post for additional assignments)

Well, it’s about time we are getting around to reading something from the lady who pretty much pioneered the study of death and dying, Elisabeth Kübler-Ross. She’s so famous that I’d wager some of you have even heard of her? If you haven’t heard of her, I bet that you might be familiar with the Five Stages of Dying that people commonly experience. That was all hers! She developed that after interviewing countless terminal patients in hospitals, etc. Her work has been instrumental in the whole hospice care movement as well as a general reform/rethink of how we treat terminal patients and how we deal with death and dying.
This is not a difficult reading (in terms of there being any difficult concepts) but, it might be a little emotionally challenging. If you never saw her famous “Stages of Dying” before, here’s a quick overview:
https://hdsa.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/13080.pdf
This course has looked at how different traditions (in different times and places) have dealt with the issues of death and dying. In the previous section you saw how Ram Dass melded together what he had learned from studying eastern traditions and brought them back to a western audience so, we got a sort of fusion “east-west” approach there. His former colleague, Timothy Leary proceeded mostly down a non-religious path (pharmacological and scientific) which was where he and Ram Dass (aka, Richard Alpert) began. Remember, it was through his experimentation with hallucinogens that Alpert gained the (for lack of a better word) spiritual impetus to pursue his search through more traditional means.
Elisabeth Kübler-Ross, as I said elsewhere, was responsible for spearheading the hospice care movement and analyzing what a person goes through as they are dying. I am curious to know if any of you have any experience with hospice care? I also would like to know your thoughts on the following: Have you learned anything about the subject of death, dying (or the beyond) from any of the approaches you have looked at this semester? What was it? Please be specific and go into as much detail as you can.
