Following these instructions I will copy the general instructions. there is one reading, chapter 10, two videos and one television episode number 3 of The Foster’s to watch this week to be able to post this discussion board. I will attach the videos and the chapter reading (as you will see below-five sentences for each and then the questions have to be answered, all in APA format. It’s complicated the first time, but then I would like to use the same person each week for the posts for the rest of the semester. FOR EACH RESOURCE: Please discuss at least two interesting concepts or facts that you learned from each resource, as well as the general meaning of that resource. You are also free to reflect on any critical thinking you had about that resource. THE MINIMUM LENGTH NEEDED FOR FULL CREDIT IS AT LEAST 5 SENTENCES PER RESOURCE. Everything should be in your own words, and every resource should be cited in-text as well as a reference list. THEN ANSWER THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS. Post due Sunday by 11:30PM ET.
Discuss the following in your initial post:
Discuss the presenting problems of this family. How might the family define their problems? How is it different than yours?
In her video, Dr. Wolf discussed the case of a client who had gotten a DUI. Discuss the case, and how she handled it. Discuss how you might have handled it similarly or differently with the Foster family.
Discuss Maslow’s Hierarchy in terms of each Foster family member. Where would you put each of them on the hierarchy?
Discuss two qualitative assessment techniques that you could use with the Foster family and how they would be helpful to you and them when working together. Why did you choose those two?
General NSTRUCTIONS
1. Please read/view the assigned readings/videos/podcasts in this syllabus. Then post your discussion. In order to earn full credit: a) Write at least five sentences about each resource assigned. Every reading/video must be discussed and cited in-text in APA format (Author, year), and there should be a reference list in your post as well. b) Then answer the discussion prompts in the discussion board. Responses to classmates are encouraged but not necessary. Due during the Module (The discussion board will always be open for that module from Monday through Sunday (11:30PM EST): 5 pts per Module.
2. NO DIRECT QUOTES; ALL WORDS IN THIS COURSE MUST BE YOUR OWN. However, if the idea comes from the article, you must cite it in correct APA style.
EXAMPLE OF DIRECT QUOTE: Actual words from an article: “Trauma-informed care (TIC) in social service organizations means that the organizations operate with the understanding that everyone involved has possibly experienced trauma in his lifetime” (Wolf et al., 2013, p.1).
EXAMPLE OF IDEA TAKEN FROM SAME ARTICLE USING YOUR OWN WORDS: Wolf et al. (2013) advises that when an agency uses trauma-informed care, it means that they work from the idea that everyone in the agency – from the workers through the clients – has a trauma history.
3. Each student will complete this activity independently and will be graded independently. The discussion board is set up such that students can only see other students’ posts AFTER they have already posted their own discussion. If a student posts a blank post or a nearly blank post in order to gain access to the discussion board, it is considered cheating, and they will receive a zero for that assignment.
4. It is helpful to write these entries in Microsoft Word and then cut and paste into the discussion board. Make sure to use correct APA style. There are two style guides in the course, located in Content, under the tab “APA style”.
DISCUSSION GRADING RUBRIC
1. Were all readings/videos discussed and understood within a social work context (with five sentences devoted to each reading/video? Were all the questions in the discussion board assignment answered? Did the discussion contain all the correct APA style citations (in-text citations as well as reference list), as well as graduate level writing (free from spelling, writing, and grammar errors)? (out of 5 points)
2. Was initial post submitted on time? (If not, 1.5 points (30%) is subtracted from final discussion post grade.)
