After attending Week 3’s synchronous class and participating in a role play session focused on MI skills with a partner who is contemplating a change, complete the Contract and Goal Plan. In this templated form, you will fill in all sections similar to the example attached below. It is okay to make up the dates for the different sessions as well as the method of payment and you do not need to actually have your partner sign the contract. You will utilize the change that your partner was considering during the role play as the goal and you will then develop three (3) objectives that could assist your partner in meeting this goal. It is okay if the three (3) objectives were not actually discussed in the role play session. The purpose of the exercise is to practice completing a formalized contract and goal plan and to practice writing SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Timely) Goals and Objectives. Also attached are some examples of SMART goals and objectives.

Part 2:

After attending Week 3’s synchronous class and participating in the second role play session, complete the questions in the Social Worker Reflection (this is at the end of the Contract Goal Plan Template). The intent of this reflection is to consider your thoughts and feelings while participating in the role play sessions and to reflect on the experience.

Background Information
Contemporary social work practice emphasizes the use of strengths-informed and evidence-based intervention techniques, such as narrative therapy, solution-focused therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy. Ongoing training and further education on each of these techniques (and many others) recommended for social workers who work directly with clients in need. The media activity “In the Social Worker’s Office” depicts a client who would benefit from any of these intervention techniques or a combination of them. This clip demonstrates how even in an initial session, clients can make progress towards changing their perspective on their life story, their obstacles, and their ability to create change.

Autism is what would be considered an umbrella diagnosis, they could use it to deny us all sorts of claims/treatments because so many conditions could be ‘caused’ or ‘linked’ to it (e.g. depression, migraines, anything to do with your nervous system, etc.).
