This week, you begin a course-long project called an Environmental Scan. The Environmental Scan is an 8-week survey of evaluation topics and discourse in the professional community of evaluation. For this Assignment, you will observe professional websites, social media, magazines, online conferences, blogs, and other literature dedicated to evaluation topics (note that these do not have to be empirical research) and record your notes and reflections on what you read as blog posts in a running document. The Diagnostic Paper focuses on the application of a specific diagnostic category
found in the DSM 5-TR (e.g., Schizophrenia, Borderline Personality Disorder, Conduct Disorder, etc.) to a case study. Students will select a case study from their own practice, find a case study in the literature, or create a case study of a client who appears to have the selected mental health diagnosis (the case study is not part of the 5-8-page count but must be provided at the beginning of the paper).
The 8-10-page paper must be well-written, in APA style, and without spelling or grammatical errors (please submit your paper to Grammarly to ensure it is well-written!). The paper must include no less than 5 peer-reviewed journal articles addressing the selected diagnosis and supporting your diagnosis of the client in the case study. The paper can either be done in a group or individually. In order to demonstrate mastery of the course materials, the Final Diagnostic Paper must include the following:

The duty to warn/protect is often viewed as an easily resolved scenario in which a social worker is able to see clear danger and moves to avoid such danger through breaking confidentiality and bringing in additional help. While these instances occur, it is far more often that the line between clear danger and potential risk is blurry and tough to determine.
