Reduced Shakespeare Company
We discussed in our lecture that it is sometimes difficult to follow the story in a Shakespeare play because of the language. I would suggest that watching it is often easier to follow. I have included two clips on the prior page in this module from the Reduced Shakespeare Company’s production of The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged). This play is a 90 min production that touches on all 37 plays written by Shakespeare in a comedic and creative way. The three clips are a look at their versions of Romeo and Juliet and Hamlet.
Write a one-page paper answering two questions.
Were the stories easier to follow the way they are presented in this version? Give at least one example from each clip that was helpful or not helpful to you while following the story.
Did you enjoy their version of Shakespeare’s plays? Please explain your answer. 2 paragraphs in length.
