Reflect on what these patterns say about the nature of representation.
Why do some groups tend to be underrepresented in Congress?
Why do you see a trend in which more women and minorities are being represented?
Do you think the underrepresentation of women and minorities affect Congress’s business?
How might we as a people address this situation and strive towards equal representation? Make sure to cite sources used.

Students will write a final reflection essay based on our common reading in the form of a literature review. This assignment is meant to be a reflection on the combined elements of the course with a focus on the broader societal landscape which public policy engages in and affects directly. This assignment is meant to pull all of our work this semester together and provide a space to reflect on the impacts of public policy in the American political system today.

After carefully reading Deborah Stone’s “The Samaritan’s Dilemma” students are to craft a 1000-word literature review in essay format. The four components you must address for this book review are:

A. Content Summary- Give a detailed summary of the book’s themes, authorial intention, scope, method, and findings. (roughly 250 original words)

B. Course Application- Link the book to at least one chapter from “Policy Paradox” AND one of your chosen policies submitted in your Policy Analysis essays. You may build on both your previous Discussion Board posting, if you choose to link the same chapter. In building on your chapter work from the Discussion Board and on your chosen policy from your Policy Analysis paper, use MLA parenthetical citation where appropriate, to show where your course material coincided with the “Samaritan’s Dilemma” book. (~250 original words)

C. Scholarly Conversation- Find at least one academic journal article from the TWU Library databases which discusses this book specifically and analyze your academic source in light of your reading of the book. (~250 original words)

D. Personal Reaction- Describe your personal reaction to the book’s content in light of our current political climate, personal experiences, thoughts, and research. (~250 original words)

Hi! You worked on an International Relations essay for me not too long ago and I

Hi! You worked on an International Relations essay for me not too long ago and I received feedback for it and was hoping you can take the professors feedback and revise it for me! I got a B but the feedback was positive just needs a few tweaks.
Here is the feedback:
“This essay has a lot of potential but it does not begin well. You seem confused about what your focus. There’s no clear question, thesis or debate. You include a lot of superfluous information. It gets better toward the end when the focus seems to appear. Tweak this and it can be an A paper.”
I will attach the guidelines again and upload the original essay. Thanks!
Guidelines:

Your assignment is to watch the documentary, “The Fog of War” (2003). First, begin with an overview of the subject of the documentary, Robert McNamara. What is his background in business, politics, and foreign affairs and in what ways was he an important architect of American foreign policy during the 20th century? Then, identify and describe 3 of what you think are McNamara’s most important “lessons” about war. Why are they still important and relevant today in recent conflicts like Iraq and Afghanistan or possible future military conflicts? Conclude with any personal reaction to the documentary.

What steps should states take to address terrorism?
– Advance a thesis based on either the Neorealist or Sociological perspective on the origins of terrorism.
– Substantiate that thesis by evaluating the relative strengths and weaknesses of your chosen answer:
o Base your evaluation of the most effective counterterrorism efforts relative to those efforts that follow from the other perspective regarding the origin of terrorism.
o Responses that ignore the relative strengths of the alternative perspective (i.e. that not selected as the thesis) will be considered incomplete.

The topic for the class is American foreign policy. We will ask: “WHY do we fight?” The debate is between those who argue that the U.S. usually fight for democracy and those who believe we fight more for our economic self-interest (or more specifically the interests of American corporations). We also ask, “HOW did we fight?” In other words, do we tend to engage in conflicts using Multilateralism or Unilateralism?
In answering these questions, choose ONE of the following for your research:
1) Why did the U.S. help overthrow the democratically elected governments of the following countries?: (Iran 1953, Guatemala 1954, Chile 1973) (choose one or two countries to focus on). Were these regime-changes inspired by the goal of furthering democracy or furthering an economic interest?
OR…
2) Research ONE of the following military conflicts and answer the questions: Why (and how) did the U.S. fight?:
Iran-Iraq War 1980 — 1988, Panama 1989, Iraq I 1990, Bosnia 1997)
Were these regime-changes inspired by the goal of furthering democracy or furthering an economic interest? Feel free to include any personal observations regarding each conflict.
