Information is everywhere and there is a glut of opinions, news, and data on the internet when making a decision. Some of this information is accurate and is free of bias while other information exists just to manipulate you. This is an exercise in discernment. For this week’s discussion, you will select two (2) resources from the internet (i.e. CNN, Breitbart, Twitter, Truth Social, The Young Turks, MSNBC, RT, CNBC, Newsmax, or any Facebook channel to assess. Any “news” source is fair game. Try to see if you can find similar arguments made by organizations or resources on the opposite political spectrum if possible. Then do the following:
State one argument made by each resource you will assess. Then, using one or more methods from Chapter 6, assess the claims for truthfulness and logic. See if you can develop some counterexamples or whether you can use any information in the two sections on Engaging with the Argument to assess the claims. Try to have some fun with this.
Finally, give your opinion on the quality of the source and whether one should see each as credible or not to be trusted.

 Good morning, everyone,
This week I decided to discuss Pro 2 of artificial intelligence.
Part 1
AI-driven virtual assistants, such as Alexa and Siri, provide accessibility capabilities that help people with many different disabilities. AI (Artificial Intelligence) can be beneficial in day-to-day life for those who are communicationally challenged or hearing impaired.
AI-powered smartphone apps provide accessibility features that help people with disabilities. Like Voiceitt, which transcribes and standardizes speech for those with speech impairments, and VoiceOver and TalkBack, which read messages and explain app icons for visually impaired users.
Smart plugs, lighting, and thermostats are examples of artificial intelligence applications that can be set to operate on a schedule, allowing people with cognitive or mobility impairments to live more independent lives.
Conclusion
For those with impairments, artificial intelligence (AI) has a lot of potential as a useful and innovative tool. Some of its many advantages are increased accessibility, increased independence, and more effective interaction with others.
Part 2
Although the argument highlights how AI improves accessibility for those with disabilities, it’s important to keep in mind that AI is not a universal solution and cannot be a help to all people with disabilities.
Part 3
The argument makes a strong case by providing us with logical reasoning. It has several clear points that are supported by specific examples of how AI technologies are being used for enhancing accessibility for people with disabilities.

Good morning, Class,
I this week discussion I choose Con3 of the Artificial Intelligence.
Part 1
Premise 1: Facial recognition technology is violating people’s privacy through warrantless surveillance.
Premise 2: Privacy experts feared that the partnership between Ring, the AI doorbell company could undermine the opinion of the customers on their privacies.
Premise 3: Some companies like Target used Artificial Intelligence to target their costumers by sending them adds and specific coupons.
Premise 4: Criminals are using Artificial Intelligence to defraud their victims in many countries.
Conclusion: Artificial intelligence is invading people life by violating their privacy. Police can conduct warrantless search by getting information from the Artificial Intelligence Companies without the consent of the citizens. Some companies used Artificial Intelligence to target costumers and in their marketing. Artificial Intelligence is a tool for criminals to defraud their victims through identity theft.
Part 2
The argument contains some extraneous materials. Most examples provide are set to alert the reader of the danger of the Artificial intelligence. The function of the sentence “AI also follows you on your weekly errands.” Is to emphasize the danger of the Artificial Intelligence and point out the risk of using it. The article brought out some real-life examples.
Part 3
I think the argument is sound. The premises supported the conclusion. Therefore, the argument I inductive. Based on the truth of the premises, the conclusion also is true. The argument is backed up with some relevant examples which are real-life problems.
Thank you.
Gabiam.

Discussion question, Please go to Procon.org and find the topic “Artificial Intelligence” (https://www.procon.org/headlines/artificial-intelligence-ai-top-3-pros-and-cons/  )or “Is the Internet ‘making us stupid’?” https://www.procon.org/headlines/is-the-internet-making-us-stupid-top-3-pros-and-cons/
Pick one Pro OR one Con (except for the one used in the example below) and do the following:
Using the material in Chapter 5, try to diagram the premises and conclusion(s) in Standard Form.
Then, discuss whether the argument contains any extraneous material of rhetoric that needs defusing, whether there are any fallacies such as generalizations, ambiguity, or vagueness, and whether the argument contains any flaws that can be criticized.
Finally, comment on the strength of the argument and if it is a good one, why it is so.
Give “documentation” your best shot – Citations and Reference in APA, MLA or the preferred style for your degree.
This example uses Pro 1 for “Artificial Intelligence” (ProCon.Org)
Part 1
P1). AI can make life easier and safer in areas concerning driving, streaming, and grocery shopping.
P2). AI can eliminate the need for gym memberships and help us stay healthier at home.
P3). AI can vastly improve the practice of medicine.
C1). Therefore we should embrace all of the benefits of AI and live better lives
Part 2
The argument does not contain extraneous material but has implicit assumptions that the audience desires all of the actions. While it would be hard to argue against enhanced medical care, not everyone wants a smart speaker spying on our babies (yes, I am using biased language to convey a point). However, in terms of the complications mentioned in Chapter 5, the argument is clear and straightforward.
Part 3
I believe this argument is inductive because even if the premises were true, the conclusion is not necessarily so. I would have to say it is moderately strong. While I can see the benefits of such enhancements, I do not know if convenience could trump things like personal security and privacy.

Topic A
What is Martin Gardner’s argument for the objectivist view of art? Do you agree? Why or why not?
Use Vaughn’s textbook to help you explain Gardner’s theory and its strengths and weaknesses. Choose an object, performance, or piece of writing as an example, and explain whether Gardner’s theory would classify the object as Art. Do you agree with objectivism about Art or do you find another theory more convincing? Defend your point of view.
