2. The NCEA recognizes that successful elder abuse prevention, detection and intervention relies, in part, on the education or training of professionals and the public. As a resource center, the NCEA provides awareness flyers, educational fact sheets and a series of training curricula on elder abuse, neglect and exploitation for all who are engaging with or advocating on behalf of older adults.  Review these educational tools. Choose some and discuss how they can be used and appropriate groups you might would like to present them to.  (an example might be a church group or a senior center).  Do you feel these are effective tools and are currently being used in your area?  How can the utilization of these be improved? Disuses any signs, advertisements etc. you have seen available on Elder Abuse.

Several agencies and organizations address elder abuse in different ways.  Locate an agency or an organization near you and make an appointment to discuss elderly abuse in your area.  (Have your questions ready and make sure they understand the purpose of the interview.) Write about your interview and the information you obtained.
