For this activity, students will search for current information about an emerging leadership/management topic. We will be using a specific framework for posting titled Red Light, Yellow Light, Green Light, so be sure to read all instructions carefully and completely before beginning this activity.
Part 1: Locate a current article or video on the Web (2016 – 2022) that discusses one of the following topics:
Managing Technology Advances
NEW:  The Great Resignation (2021-22)
Conceptual Skills – Critical and Analytical Thinking
Managing to beat competition (Innovation, Quality, Efficiency)
Managing: Inclusion and Diversity
Managing: Globalization
Management skills to keep employees happy
Read for detail and then consider the following. What are the red lights in the article? That is, what things stop you in your tracks as a reader/listener/observer because you find them hard to believe or intriguing? Next, what are the yellow lights? That is, what things slow you down a bit, give you pause, and make you wonder if they are true and accurate or need more clarification? And finally, what are the green lights? That is, what details make you excited about the topic.
Part 2: Post the link to your article or video along with your Red light, Yellow Light, Green Light statements. When you write your post, use the terms red lights, yellow lights, and green lights to begin your answers. An example would be “The red lights in the video were…”  Once posted, check out the posts from your classmates, and be sure to respond thoughtfully to at least two of your classmates’ responses.
