Assignment Details
Prior to your graduation from AIU, you have been working as the Victims’ Assistant Advocate for the office of the local county prosecutor. You have a great working relationship with the prosecutor, Mary, and the remainder of the office. Normally, when you speak, the staff and the prosecutor know that you are speaking from a knowledge base that you have gained from personal experience, research, and reading, so they know that your comments are facts. You use APA format to cite your sources for this project.
You have decided to speak with the prosecutor, Mary, on behalf of Maureen, a college student who was a sexual assault victim (date rape). You want to convince Mary to support a change in the prosecutor’s policy of not prosecuting sexual assault (date rape) cases when drugs or alcohol is involved. Mary has a strict policy: When someone wants to speak with her about changing an established policy, she wants the person to submit a PowerPoint presentation that outlines his or her argument for the policy change prior to meeting her. This way she feels that she is not blind-sided, and that she has an opportunity to research the topic prior to the meeting.
You follow her policy and prepare a 10 to 15-slide PowerPoint presentation, hoping that you can persuade Mary and the chief prosecutor to change their policy or, at a minimum, meet with you for a discussion about changing the policy. Maureen knows that other young women are being attacked and that often drugs are used.
Mary has agreed to review your PowerPoint presentation, which includes video links.
Educate Mary about sexual assault (date rape) cases, statistics and date rape drugs.
Explain why not prosecuting the cases is the wrong public and social policy. Provide crime statistics reported by Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) and the National Crime Victimization Survey (NCVS) relating to rape and the strengths and weaknesses of each type of reporting.
Define the term date rape (or acquaintance rape; the terms are interchangeable) and how date rape is distinguished from stranger rape, statutory rape, and spousal rape.
List the types and uses of date rape drugs.
Describe the victim–offender relationship, including the following:How victims are viewed by perpetrators of date rape.
The special problems of date rape prosecutions.
How society and jurors may view date rape (e.g., blaming the victim based on the perceived precipitation, facilitation, or provocation of the victim).
Use a case example (see resource for this assignment).
Use the linked resources, the library, Internet, and other resources available to you to conduct your research. Provide APA citations and references.

D‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌uring this assignment, you will locate a current criminal c

D‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌uring this assignment, you will locate a current criminal case from a news source that is currently being investigated by a local, state, or federal law enforcement agency. During the first part of the assignment (the theory portion), you are to explain the case in your first paragraph being sure to cite the news source you took the case from at the end of paragraph 1. Proceed by giving details of how the investigating law enforcement agency should proceed with interviews for the crime you’ve selected. Specifically, explain how the investigating PD should go about conducting interviews of victims, witnesses, and suspects. Besides discussing who should be interviewed, be sure to articulate where, when, why, and what some of the questions you feel will be necessary during each interview. Hint: using headings to help explain each interview category (I.e. victim, witness, suspect) the investigating PD will engage in makes it easier to stay organized in your explanation of how the case should be investigated. IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT YOU CHOOSE A CURRENT CRIMINAL CASE THAT HAS A VICTIM! You should not choose a homicide case for this assignment because the investigating agency cannot interview a dead person. This theory portion of your assignment should be approximately two-three (2-3) full pages and must also have a cover page and Reference page. The second part of the assignment is the practical part (the authentic portion) where you become the actual investigator working for the investigating agency conducting the criminal investigation. During this authentic portion of your assignment, you will complete the following reports t‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌hat will be included for submission (along with the theory portion): 1. A Victim Statement for each victim interviewed (Hint: you are wise to locate a case with only 1 victim). 2. A Witness Statement for each witness interviewed (MUST interview at least 2 witnesses) – they can be anyone you want as long as these made up witnesses would realistically be interviewed in the news case you selected. 3. Suspect/defendant statements – you’ll need a statement for each defendant you arrested (Hint: you are wise to locate a case with only 1 suspect). List all sources of research at the end of your paper on your Reference Page using APA guidelines for listing authors, dates, titles, and publishing information. Use the Purdue Owl website for help citing classroom PP slides. The following is an example: Saferstein, R. (2013). Forensic Science: From the Crime Scene to the Lab. Pearson Prentice Hall, Upper Saddle River, NJ. General Expectations: This theory portion of the assignment is to be a minimum of 2-3 pages in length, not including your Cover Page, Reference Page, Reports, and Statements. You should use a 12 point “Times” font, printed on 8 ½ X 11’’ paper, double-spaced, with a one inch margins all the way around. The assignment is to abide by all APA rules regarding proper citation, documentation, and formatting. The assignment will constitute fifteen percent (15 %) of your course grade. Some experts have pointed out that Joint Ventures (JVs) are more prevalent in times of uncertainty compared to mergers and acquisitions (M&As) (Dintelman M. & Aschenbroich A., 2023). What might explain this trend? The growing prevalence of JVs during periods of uncertainty may be linked to their inherently flexible nature, several synergies and ability to retain control. Unlike M&As, where there is a significant commitment to forming a single entity bound by strict governance rules, JVs operate as strategic partnerships.
While JVs are favored for their strategic flexibility and adaptability in unpredictable environments, establishing them can be legally complex.
Governance and Control: Questions of authority and decision-making powers arise. Who has the final say, and what rights do the veto holders possess?
Capitalization: Agreements must be made regarding the JV’s capitalization. Disputes can occur when one party contributes intellectual property rights or other non-capital assets, leading to imbalance.
Deadlock Situations: What happens when the decision-making process reaches a standstill at the board or shareholder level?
Termination: The grounds and consequences of ending a JV need to be clearly defined to avoid future complications.
Competition: JVs can potentially create competition issues, requiring careful consideration beyond the scope of M&A antitrust perspectives.
Please make me a paper about this. Discussing all aspects. Also provide at least 4 good sources. Focus on Swiss Law or European Law.
