E9: Systems Development: Users & IS Work Breakdown
Nearly all systems development projects require input from users of different types (subject matter experts, sponsors, general users). When, how, and how much they are involved in the development process is a critical success factor for a project. However, it is not always clear what the correct amount of this involvement should be. Below is a spreadsheet that contains a detailed breakdown of tasks for a development process used to develop and implement web-based applications (and a sample of the IS personnel and user personnel normally involved).
SDLC v Human Resources.xlsx Download SDLC v Human Resources.xlsx
REQUIRED:
Use the spreadsheet given, for each task indicate the percent of the time that the IS personnel should spend on that task and the percent of the time that the user personnel should spend. For example, for the first task “Determine project scope” I think should mostly be done by users with some input from the IS specialists, so I would say this is 10% ISP 90% UP.
Analyze your results. If a project was expected to take 10,000 hours (a team of five working for 1 year), how many hours would be dedicated to ISP? to UP?
Discuss your estimates and your analysis. Why did you make the decisions you did? Are any tasks 100% ISP or UP? Given your results, how would you answer the question: How important is user involvement in the systems development process?

For this assignment, use the project scenario used from previous assignments to design a knowledge management approach for project history preservation. The document will become part of the PM plan or storybook to be developed as the Signature Assignment.
As an introduction to the strategy, present a brief summary of the project, deliverables, and metadata of the information being managed or generated as a result of the project. After this introduction is described, create and discuss the KMS to be implemented and followed thorough the project. Explain how each of the knowledge management processes and sub-processes depicted in the model is currently supported by technology in your project. Identify problems with current technology support of knowledge management. Problems might include missing technology support, lack of interfaces, usability issues, inclusion of stakeholders, or other issues related to optimal KM.
Next, create a diagram (MS Word, PowerPoint, MS Visio, or another drawing tool) to draw the systems architecture that will support knowledge management, solve issues, and guarantee project history is preserved. Your architectural model should cover high-level processes, collaboration strategies, data models, documents, forms, and specific terms of actual technologies involved. State the process for document distribution, storage, and transfer to management and operations once the project concludes.
Copy and paste the image of your model into your Word document, and explain each of its components. The narrative should cover project information flow, data repositories, document inventory, and the project’s lessons-learned. Present the strategy to implement and use the KMS model and how you will measure its effectiveness.
Length: 4-5 pages, not including title and reference pages
References: Include and cite a minimum of 3 scholarly resources.
The completed assignment should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the ideas and concepts that are presented in the course and provide new thoughts and insights relating directly to this topic. Your response should reflect graduate-level writing and APA standards. Be sure to adhere to  Academic Integrity Policy.

I have uploaded several documents inclusive of a PowerPoint presentation. the power point presentation highlights the findings I discovered during the research. The document attached is my formal proposal the task at hand is to include a subtopic named findings and include what was represented in the presentation. This presentation involves charts that was done in a questionnaire and it has thematic maps also.
The next task is to create a poster I’ve included a template as to how this poster should be made also. Please ensure it is aligned with what is represented in my formal proposal.

Week 4 Discussion – Dealing with Conflict in Teams
The ability to deal with professional conflict is one of those soft skills that is very useful when working in teams. In 3-4 paragraphs, discuss the following:
Imagine you are on a team at work, and the Project Manager has asked each of the team members for their input on how the team is working together. Thinking about your concentration and likely role with a company, what do you hope the other team members will say about you?
Suppose one of the team members isn’t contributing very much or providing you with something you need in order to proceed with your part of the project. How might you address the situation? Include a rationale for why you would take that approach.
What might you do if you approached the Project Manager about the issue with a teammate and the Project Manager ignored your concerns?
Please respond substantively to at least one other post (1-2 paragraphs each post). Choose to respond to those who have few or no responses, as well as interesting conversations you want to join. Remember to get in early in the week for your initial post and then come back a few other times during the week for the best experience.

E8: Enterprise Applications
At this point in the class the big pieces of the puzzle that we discussed at the beginning of the semester should be coming together and beginning to connect to each other. In my opinion, Chapter 8 pulls together much of the prior content from the class (chapter 1 to 7).  I ask you to reflect on how the Chapter 8 material connects to our earlier discussions in the class.
REQUIRED: Integration Analysis
1. Identify as many “connections” between concepts in this chapter and the earlier material (create a list).
2. From your list, select three that you believe are most important or critical to integration and for business success.
3. Explain your selections.
