Friendship Takes A Lifetime To Fully Understand And Explore

Do you ever get hit by life’s big questions like “What is love?” “What is the aim of this life? “These thoughts often fill our minds, some choose to think over it some get an answer while others let these thoughts pass away. I chose to think over a similar theme and to see what I would find out. This article focuses on the question “What is Friendship?”

Friendship seems easy enough. You meet people, hang out with them, and make amazing memories that you’ll cherish for the rest of your life. Is that it? Is friendship all about making cool memories, studying together, playing together?

Friendship, what is it after all? Or who our true friends are? What is the difference between a friend and an acquaintance? Seems like everyone knows the answer, but when we try to express it in words there is almost nothing to say. Maybe friendship cannot be defined because it’s just a realization or experience and you can only feel it. Whenever I came across this question I could never answer it. I only had tons of questions flushing into my mind. I had trouble defining it, and so I tried asking some of my friends.

Shubham defined friends as with whom we can be ourselves, with whom we can share almost everything and anything. It’s more of emotional connection where life feels incomplete without the close friends. Shraddha defined friendship as caring and accepting each other as they are. Avanti defined friendship as a relation where understanding between the two individual plays an important role.

Agreeing to all of their views I guess this is what forms the foundation of friendship. When you have to pick an outfit for the day, your friend is the one you go to for assistance or when you have a crush on someone, you ask if your friend approves. There is nothing wrong with seeking approval, because your friends may see or understand something that you don’t. Friends understand us like no one does. Even our family fails to understand us sometimes. We often turn to our friends for help. Friends stand by you through thick and thin, they speak for you when you are lost, they speak through your silence.

I understand that everyone has their own concept about friendship. Going back to my views I wonder what is friendship to me. As kids how I understood friends was with whom you can play, the set of people whom you call on your birthday parties. In high school friends meant with whom you share the same interests, likings. Even in college most of my groups were formed because of common interest like working in the same college committee. But then here’s the question, when those interests fade does that mean it’s an end to friendship or the friendship loses its charm?

I have certain friends with whom I go out to parties with, others that I have philosophical discussion with, others to study with etc. So, is friendship centered around the activity? I view friendship as the beginning when the focus is not activity centered but person centered. Like for example say study-buddies, when I care more about the person than studying together. When studying together is not only for achieving higher grades but also growing together. When we maintain the same rapport even when we are not studying together.

Humans are fickle-minded. We keep changing rather growing every day. Our likes, dislikes change. We cannot have the same interests throughout our lives. But these interests help us to connect with people, understand them better. And once the friendship is established even if the interests fade away it doesn’t affect the relation. In fact we accept and appreciate the changes.

According to Kalpesh, friends are the ones with whom you can share everything, whom you trust, you can rely on them in times of need. Friendship is not restricted to any age or gender or religion. Friendship sees no rich and poor. It is pure with only love being its cause.

True to his words, but how do you know whom to trust, who to rely on? Venugopal defined Friendship as “Abouquet of flowers that one gathers on his life’s journey, each friend is a precious flower whose fragrance belongs to you and only you”. Well said, but just as the flowers wither away after few days, does even friendship diminishes?

Friendship is a choice. A choice that every individual makes. A choice to be loyal and stay committed to each other forever. This definition gives rise to another question. What is loyalty? Are we friends because we trust or do we trust because we are friends? I feel it’s the latter one. Yes, trust is required in any relation but it cannot be the basis of it. It never appears by itself. Trust grows gradually and it gets stronger every day. In fact trust and friendship goes hand in hand.

With every positive comes the negative. Similarly Friendship too has its negative traits. Negative just because it creates inconvenience. With friendship comes jealousy, possessiveness, differences in behavior which results into fights, arguments. But if seen on a brighter side Friendship is not friendship without arguments. There will always be something that you and your friend will disagree on, so it’s OK to argue and to have mini-break ups because in the end, you will only learn more about each others’ boundaries and how you work as a pair. Arguments and fights will show you who your friend truly is; are they making an effort to fix the issue? Do they really care about you?

Friendship isn’t a onetime thing. It needs constant care. Friendship can be compared to a tree. Its seed should find good soil and under good conditions only then it will grow into a tree. As the years go by the sapling that grows through the seed, grows into a tree and stands firmer and firmer on the ground. And if it is strong enough it will withstand/survive all the storms and the wind. But for that, we should take care of it and love it.

True friendship is something to be cherished. You always see those people that have been best friends for years and it seems so effortless. That is something to strive for. Just by hearing his/her voice you can make out if he/she is happy or sad.

Friendship is more about reciprocity, love and effort, but it’s also about living it and figuring it out as you go. Friendship is a two-way street. It shouldn’t be a job to maintain the friendship. The relationship should be kept alive by both. One individual shouldn’t be doing all of the work.

Friendship is a very fragile thing. Very often when friendships fall apart we hear people say, ‘maybe you weren’t really friends.’ The problem is we really don’t understand Friendship. Every one of us just has a mere idea of Best Friends. Friendships, even great ones, are still fragile irrespective of the time you have spent with them. You can’t save every relationship in your life, and you shouldn’t want to. Sometimes it doesn’t require anything but distance to terminate a friendship. Fostering a friendship requires effort, time and communication. Remember that you’ll never have the kind of time to spend with your friends that you did when you were younger.

Since childhood we have heard many stories about friendship for example of Krishna and Sudama, watched movies like Dosti, Sholay, and many more and the famous TV series FRIENDS. All of these have inspired us and embarked upon the beauty of friendship. Friendships like these are to die for.

No friend can be compared with another. There are different types of friend every girl or a guy needs. The one who can talk sense into you, The one who is your partner in crime, The one who knows much about you, The one who is your biggest cheerleader, The one you can count on in any circumstance, the one who lightens your mood, plans best surprises, The one who’ll kick the guy/girl who breaks her/his heart, the one you talk to every day. Whenever you find such friends treasure them. Don’t let them go. If you are lucky enough you’ll have one friend with all these traits. So hold onto them and never take them for granted.

Its always said ‘As you grow, you lose friends. Some friends come and go and I’m on the path to understanding that, that’s OK. They’re in your life for a reason, to help you grow, learn,, to make you laugh when you don’t feel like or even to just listen. But sometimes they become a storm and it’s a matter of time before the friendship becomes a memory. And when this happens, you’ll have more people come into your life and be a friend you deserve. Just don’t settle for a friend. Because a friend should be that star in the sky you know is always there.

Okay, so now I know who a friend is, what friendship is, but what if your very best friend breaks your heart, betrays you, abandons you, what’s next?? Every time you lose your friend you lose a part of yourself. How do you deal with that??

In this short span of life that I have lived I have learnt one thing, Friendship is not perfect, it is made perfect. Friends are not perfect. No one is perfect. After all we are Humans and not God! Sometimes friends can be selfish, can be mean, they might bitch about us, break promises, they might break our hearts. But let’s accept it with a smile or few tears. It must have been our fault as well somewhere. We must have disappointed them, their expectations.

So why not let go of the hurt and bury the hatchet? Forgive, Accept, Forget and have a large heart enough to give another shot to the friendship which was once very dear and loved. Yes, broken hearts are sometimes beyond repair. And you have every right to feel wronged, not valued enough. But my friend till when? Life is never predictable. Anyone can die at any moment. Then why not forgive an old friend for old time sakes? And believe me when you forgive them and accept them you heal. The hurt goes away.

I’ve learned a lot about friendship this past year. But there’s also a lot that I’ve yet to learn. Just like there is no rule book or a simple formula to live an ideal life, Friendship is something that takes time, practice and a lifetime to fully understand and explore.

As time passed, I have lost friends. I would rather say I have lost connection with them. Neither of us tried to reconnect. And that’s what I learnt, and want you to know, As you grow, you shed different parts of yourself, like a snake. I’m happy to say I’ve shed many insecurities, fears, hazy interests, and behavioral flaws. And with each layer, you might shed some relationships as well. This is just a part of life. If you’re lucky, like me, you’ll have some stubborn friends who refuse to let go, no matter which part you leave behind!

Best Friends Are Always There For You Even When You Move

I believe that no one can survive life without true friends. Friendship is one of the greatest blessings anyone can have. Friends are the ones I go to when things get tough, and also the first people I go to when I have good news. They are the ones I have the most fun with, like going on spontaneous adventures or even just doing the simplest things. The definition of friendship is “A state of mutual trust and support”. Friends are the only ones I can trust with my deepest darkest secrets, and that is why I believe we need true friendships that last forever.

Everyone has had at least one true friendship. Some people have friends they met on the playground, others have their siblings or even their parents. We all started making friends at a young age, so we learned young that friends are important. Most of the time, the friends we have when we’re young don’t last. As we grow up, we grow apart. We make new friends that will be there for us. I am no longer friends with my elementary school best friends, but I grew up and became friends with the greatest people in my life. I have the best friends right now, and I couldn’t have asked for better friends. The older we all get, the more important friendship comes to us. Without my friends, my life would be monotonous. I would not have anyone to trust my life with. As goes the other way around. Being there for my friends and not taking them for granted is so important because they need true friends as much as I do.

I believe that friendships can last a lifetime, even if they are halfway across the world. Although you are not together to go on spontaneous adventures, you are still there to support and love each other; even if it is over FaceTime and texts. I believe this because one my my best friends lives in Germany. We have only been friends for about eight months, but she has been possibly one of the greatest friends I have ever had. I went through some pretty rough moments during my junior year, and she was the only one there to help me and encourage me through it all. And even though she is back in Germany, we still have that bond; just over the phone. I know that no matter what happens, her and I will always be close and visit each other when we have the chance. We had a lot of fun memories together while she was here in America and she made my junior year unforgettable.

One of my favorite quotes is said by a famous philosopher, Euripides. Euripides stated “Friends show their love in times of trouble, not in happiness”. Therefore I believe that true friendships are essential. I believe they can last forever, despite being 4,944 miles away from each other. Friends care for each other, depend on one another, build trust, and just simply enjoy life together. They give life a whole other meaning, and that is why I believe friendship lasts a lifetime, no matter the circumstances.

Dealing With The Peer Pressure

What is peer pressure?

Peer pressure simply means the influence of your peers on you. This influence could be of positive or negative effect, but in most cases the later prevails. As humans we want to be accepted and recognize especially by our friends and peers: that sense of belonging is just so tempting and as such we tend to compromise and do all it takes just so we fit in and be accepted by them. This could be dreadful if one is not sensitive enough to discern the good from the bad influence. So many lives and future have been jeopardized, endangered and truncated because of this menace. However, it may be of great help when it pushes one to strive for something greater, excellent and not being complacent or remaining in one’s comfort zone.

Join me as we explore some of the ways to deal with peer pressure.

Choose your circles wisely.

Surrounding yourself with the wrong persons, exert a strong influence on you. Choose positive friends who won’t pressure you to do things that you feel uncomfortable to do. A popular saying goes “show me your friends and I will tell you who you are.” you are seventy-five percent of the company you keep. Why endangering yourself by keeping those friends who cause you to doubt your integrity and forces you to comprise your values and standards. I am not saying you shouldn’t relate to them, but they shouldn’t be your “friend.” Why moving with an alcoholic addict when you don’t want to be one? These are questions you need to ask yourself before keeping such friendship.

Believe in yourself

When you know who you are, it’s difficult for you to be deceived by vain words, vainglory, and lifestyle. You become sensitive enough to tell the wrong influence of the bad ones. Many youths are in mess today because they doubt themselves, and as such, anything goes in (like “make we just do am, since everyone is doing it”). I was once in this particular situation, where a lack of self-belief wanted to pull me away from the right path. Believe you have all it takes to succeed, believe that you don’t need to follow the crowd to make it: you mustn’t blend, believe that you are different and unique and you don’t need to try so hard to fit in. the sooner you start being yourself the better, never be ashamed of who you are, rather seek to develop yourself. Never hurt your self-esteem.

Be contented with what you have

This statement has been criticized by so many persons, but either way, to some extent it holds. What causes youth to be on tenterhook could be trace to this matter. In a world, Nigeria to be specific where all we see on the internet and the media is money, money, money. Perhaps, one could be tempted to get money at all cost: by hook or by crook. And what we fail to realize is, how they make their money. Instead, we mount unnecessary pressure on ourselves just to make money which could cost us our values. When you know what you want and love the things you have, the chances of being pressurized by your peers become slim. Never be in a hurry, don’t envy that friend, don’t admire that extravagant lifestyle, perhaps you are single and all your peers are flirting around don’t get deceived. Know your worth, and focus on you.

Study God’s words

The kind of peace we get when we rely on God’s promises is so overwhelming. No matter how intense the pressure may be, trust in God with the whole of your heart and soul. Seek and follow God’s words in every situation you find yourself. The bible serves as a compass to detect what path to follow. Are you tempted or pressured to fornicate, remember God frowns at immorality, or are you pressured to steal, remember the bible warns that no thief has a part in his kingdom? Perhaps you are pressure to make money illegally, remember that true riches come from God and the love of money is the root of all evil. Conquer that pressure with the word. There is immense power in it. Believe in it. Do it

Burn the bridges

Dissociates yourself from peers or activities that mount pressure unnecessary pressure on you (bad energy); It could be peers, places, lifestyle and the likes of it. Avoid places and situations that make you uncomfortable. Disconnect from them. Be assertive about this. Do it deliberately. The future or life you dream of having cannot be achieved if you keep the wrong connections. Burn those bridges and start constructing the right ones

Talk to a mentor, guardian or trusted friend.

If you are struggling with peer pressure, talk to someone you trust. Your friends might have some advice on how they handled peer pressure that you could use. You can as well talk to your parents as they have your best interest at heart, be sincere with them and tell them about that issue that easily beset you. Also, talk to a mentor about it or someone you feel comfortable with to express yourself

Conclusion

Within every man there is always an internal battle, everyone wants to gain approval from friends and family, but it’s quite okay if the reverse is the case: peer pressure will always mount up and it’s something beyond our control but we can control how we respond to them. You cannot be everyone at the same time. Be you. Stand tall on your values and standard never bend the knee to negative energy.

Essay on Friendship 5 (500 words)

Introduction

Friendship is a beautiful and cherished bond that plays a significant role in our lives. It is a connection that goes beyond mere acquaintances and provides us with emotional support, understanding, and companionship. However, in the modern era, friendships have encountered numerous challenges that can hinder the development of genuine and meaningful connections. This essay will explore the problems of modern friendship and provide insights into how to find a real friend.

The problems of modern friendship

In today’s fast-paced and technology-driven world, there are several challenges that affect the quality and depth of friendships. One prominent issue is the rise of superficial connections through social media platforms. While these platforms allow us to stay connected with a vast number of individuals, they often promote shallow interactions, where the focus is on accumulating virtual friends rather than nurturing genuine relationships. As a result, the true essence of friendship, including trust, loyalty, and emotional support, can be diluted or even lost.

Another problem in modern friendship is the lack of time and effort invested in maintaining relationships. With demanding work schedules, personal commitments, and the constant distractions of technology, people often struggle to allocate quality time for their friends. This leads to a decline in face-to-face interactions and deep conversations, which are crucial for fostering intimacy and understanding. Consequently, friendships can become superficial and devoid of the emotional depth that is necessary for a meaningful bond.

Additionally, the culture of comparison and competition prevalent in today’s society can negatively impact friendships. The pressure to succeed, achieve certain milestones, and showcase a perfect life can create envy and jealousy among friends. Instead of celebrating each other’s successes, individuals may feel threatened or inadequate, which can strain the relationship. This unhealthy competition erodes trust and hinders the ability to truly support and uplift one another.

How to find a real friend

Despite the challenges, it is still possible to find and cultivate genuine friendships in the modern world. The key lies in being intentional and mindful in our approach. Firstly, it is important to prioritize quality over quantity. Instead of seeking a large number of friends, focus on nurturing a few deep and meaningful connections. Invest time and effort in understanding and supporting each other, and cultivate trust through open and honest communication.

Another crucial aspect of finding a real friend is shared values and interests. Seek out individuals who resonate with your core beliefs and passions. Common interests provide a strong foundation for a friendship and foster a sense of belonging. Engage in activities and communities that align with your interests, as this increases the likelihood of meeting like-minded individuals who can become true friends.

Moreover, it is essential to be a good friend oneself. Show empathy, kindness, and genuine interest in others. Actively listen and be present in conversations, providing emotional support when needed. Be reliable and trustworthy, honoring commitments and maintaining confidentiality. By embodying these qualities, you attract individuals who share the same values and are more likely to form lasting friendships.

Conclusion

Friendship is an invaluable aspect of our lives, providing us with support, happiness, and a sense of belonging. While modern challenges can hinder the development of genuine friendships, it is crucial to navigate through these obstacles and seek out authentic connections. By prioritizing quality over quantity, nurturing shared values and interests, and embodying the qualities of a good friend, we can find and cultivate meaningful relationships. In doing so, we enhance our overall well-being and create a support system that enriches our lives.

In today’s fast-paced and interconnected world, true friendship is often overshadowed by superficial relationships and virtual connections. The rise of social media and digital interactions has led to a superficial sense of friendship, where the number of followers and likes takes precedence over genuine human connection. However, true friendship transcends these shallow parameters and requires time, effort, and emotional investment. It thrives on face-to-face interactions, shared experiences, and heartfelt conversations.

In conclusion, true friendship is a rare and priceless treasure that adds immeasurable value to our lives. It is a bond built on trust, loyalty, mutual understanding, selflessness, and a deep sense of belonging. True friends are there for each other through thick and thin, offering unwavering support and genuine care. In a world dominated by superficial relationships, true friendship stands as a beacon of authenticity and human connection. It is a bond that enriches our lives, brings joy, and reminds us of the power of genuine human connection. May we all be fortunate enough to experience the beauty and blessings of true friendship.

Lastly, we have the “honest critic” – a friend who provides constructive feedback and helps us grow and improve. They offer objective perspectives, challenge our assumptions, and encourage self-reflection. While their criticism may sometimes be tough to hear, their intention is to help us become better versions of ourselves. Their honesty keeps us grounded and motivates us to constantly strive for self-improvement.

History is replete with remarkable examples of friendships that have left a lasting impact on individuals and society. One such example is the friendship between Mahatma Gandhi and Hermann Kallenbach. Kallenbach served as both a confidant and an advisor to Gandhi, supporting him in his mission to bring about social and political change. Their friendship was based on mutual respect, trust, and a shared vision for a better world.

Another inspiring friendship can be found in the correspondence between C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien. These two literary giants formed a close bond based on their love for storytelling and imagination. They pushed each other to create masterpieces that continue to captivate readers worldwide. Through their friendship, they not only enriched their own lives but also contributed to the development of the fantasy genre and left a lasting legacy in the literary world.

Through friendship, we find support, companionship, and the opportunity for personal growth, making our journey through life richer and more meaningful.

3 Qualities Of A True Friendship: Care, Support, Loyalty

A friend is someone difficult to find. A friend is someone you can always count on when times are tough. For example, a good friend is there when you are at the lowest times in your life. Friends, who pretend to care and then turn around gossiping are the start of the drama. As opposed to a friend that will support you in beneficial decisions, these toxic people cause others to lose assurance and trust in new friendships that they have recently forged.

First, an important quality for a friend is to be caring. In friends, you look for a lot of things. Some people may want adventurous friends and others might want calm friends to match their style. Caring requires personal insight, self-discipline, and unconditional positive regard for a friend. Although there are many forms of friendship, certain characteristics are present in many types of bonds between friends. For example, characteristics like affection, kindness, love, empathy, sympathy, honesty, loyalty, generosity, forgiveness, and the ability to not judge others. These characteristics grow a healthy and trustful bond between you and your friend or partner. One reason a best friend should be caring is because Affection in a friendship is a priority. Affection can be shown by looks, words, or gestures. It conveys love and allows new connections to take place. For example, when you get broken up with or cheated on by a boy you feel sad. Best friends will always be there to comfort you and to make sure you are happy. If a friend was caring, then a friend would help and support you in the decisions you make and help you get out of situations that are tough to get out yourself. All in all, a caring friend is a good friend to have.

Second, an important quality for a friend is to be supportive. Fader states, “a good friend will have your very best interests and heart and will be there to help you when you have a problem.” A best friend should be supportive because the love they give in tough situations is helpful to have. Having love as strength is not about the capacity to love. As such, it is about being involved in a loving and supportive relationship. To illustrate, a supportive friend should always give the correct advice when you need it. It wouldn’t matter if it was about a boy or an emotional problem they should always be supportive and give the right advice. If a friend was supportive, then he or she would sit with you for hours and stick with you when you needed it. Clearly, a supportive friend would want you to take a stand, and help others make a stand.

Finally, another important quality for a friend is to be loyal. Everyone considers loyalty to be defined as respect, honesty, love and the ability to wait as long as the other needs when they need space and time. When you have certain tasks and responsibilities you become devoted to completing them. You become devoted to performing at your very best and you make sure the least amount of mistakes are made. “Real friends don’t let life interrupt them,” Loyal friends are something that we all wish we had more of. You know the friends I’m talking about, the ones who show you complete devotion and will always back you up without question. Real friends don’t let anyone break them apart cause at the end of the day they have each other. Also, having someone watching your back all the time is a complete upgrade, These friends can shoot down rumors about you and prevent them from spreading, which saves you a lot of trouble and frustration. To summarize these reasons loyal friends should always be gaining your trust not losing it. As one can see, a loyal friend will always stay with you no matter what.

As one can plainly see, having a real friend is the best thing that could possibly happen to one. If more people had these qualities, then friendships would start to blossom and people would trust more. It’s too bad that not a lot of real friends exist in this small world.

Love And Friendship Differences And Similarities

Exploring the Essence of Love and Friendship

We all have been faced with the highs and lows of love and friendship one time or another in our lives. Love and friendship can bring you a life full of contentment or a life full of sadness, there are many aspects to love and friendship. Love and friendship can be like a beautiful garden of flowers you really don’t have the words to describe the beauty. As you get closer, you will discover it comes with hidden thorns and thistles called covetousness, enviousness, resentment, and the green-eyed monster all of these decreases your love and friendship. We can argue love and friendship is what makes us compassionate, and love and friendship brings us together and creates happy memories. “When Love speaks, the voice of all the gods, Makes heaven drowsy with the harmony” (Shakespeare, Love Labor’s Lost). Love and friendship covers a multitude of faults it is the glue that keeps family and friends together, even though the love of many wax cold. ”Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks, but bears it out even to the edge of doom. If this be error and upon me proved, I never writ, nor no man ever loved” (Shakespeare, Sonnet 116). Love is a strong emotion. It is a wide array of feelings directed towards another person or object. It can pertain to personal attraction in the case of people in a romantic relationship and attachment in the case of family and friends. It is the foundation of interpersonal relationships that are built between family, friends, and partners.

The Interplay of Love and Friendship in Relationships

Love Speaks in the name of Friendship: Friendship is a feeling of love and affection of one person for another. This feeling of love must be reciprocated. Otherwise friendship cannot be possible. Friendship does not exist where tastes, feelings and sentiments are not similar. The famous essayist Bacon has warned against the friendship between a very rich person and a very poor person. Economic disparity damages friendship. Thus friendship is a feeling of affection between two likeminded persons of uniform status. It is said that a friendship in need is a friend in deed. There may be man friends at the time of prosperity. But most of them desert at the time of adversity. We can examine the sincerity of a friend during our time of hardship and trouble. Only a sincere and faithful friend remains with us at the time of our trouble. All others leave us. It is very painful when our friends turn traitors. Money is an enemy of friendship. Everybody has an attraction for money. When lending or borrowing of money is done between two friends, there is great risk. Friendship may be affected. So it is wise for true friends to avoid monetary transaction. Vanity is another element which breaks friendship. Everybody has self-respect. When a person tries to criticise his friend, their friendship is affected. So friendship must be treated very delicately. Friendship is a special kind of love, more than true and more than endless. So if you have your friends, take care of them, and treat them like a treasure. A famous philosopher Euripides once said, “Friends show their love in times of trouble, not in happiness”. The presence of friends makes our life worthwhile but it is really difficult to write a good friend who will be with us in all the circumstances of life. Friendship is one of the most important and valuable things in our life. It measures a good person. A relationship is love and appreciation being shared between two people while at the same time they are indulging themselves in each other’s lives. A relationship is a connection between two individuals whether it is mother and child, male and female, or friend and friend. A relationship can be defined as something sacred, something meant to be shared between two people over a period of time. In the essay “On Friendship” written by Francine Du Plessix Gray she gives her perspective on the relationship between men and women. “Friendship is by its very nature freer of deceit than any other relationship we can know because it is least affected by striving for power, physical pleasure, or material profit most liberated from any oath of duty or of constancy” this is a quote from Francine Du Plessix Gray. She believed that there wasn’t any such thing as true love that with love you get a false sense of what’s real. Varying opinions and conflicting perspectives can quickly lead to disagreements and animosity between people.

Historical Perspectives on Love and Friendship

Close-Knit Loving Bond: Relationships and friendships have evolved significantly over the centuries. Quality of life was influenced by accepted practices related to theories of love and friendship. Exploring Medieval Europe and modern day approaches to relationships provide a clear illustration of how relationships have positively evolved over time. Theories of love and friendship have emerged from the early medieval period over 2000 years ago with notable theories from Plato and Aristotle. Plato was an ancient Greek Philosopher and pivotal figure in the history of western thought. Plato developed the idealist concepts of love theory and defined Eros. Two major psychological theorists on love and relationships today are Zick Rubin and Robert Sternberg. Zick Rubin, a modern day psychologist theorizes that love is made up of three different categories.A close-knit loving bond between two people can begin with a friendship. Whether it is a friendship between two males, two females, or one male and one female, these friendships will develop into love. In no way is it a romantic love, but this type of love connects and bonds friends. Friends may move away or friendships may wane, but the love between the two people burns on forever. Romantic love is a love that not every person will experience. It is a type of love that is not there at the beginning, but grows within the individual. When one finally finds the love they have been looking for, one cannot imagine life with anybody else.

The Dynamics of Romantic and Platonic Love

Love the Conqueror of All: Love, friendship, sympathy and likeness – these feelings are the brightest moments of our life. They become the source of joy and positive energy but can become the reason of big problems and disillusionment at the same time. It’s important to know the notions of these feelings and their characteristics to avoid possible mistakes. Very often lack of knowledge in this field can lead to misunderstandings and finally to poor or even tragic consequences. Sometimes people mix love and friendship or love and passion or sexual attraction. All these feelings are important and reflect different aspect of our life but not all of them are enough to create a family. For non-professional it’s hard to give appraisal of such notions as love and friendship.

Challenges in Distinguishing Love from Friendship

Professionals also don’t share common opinion on this subject. Bruce King in his book Human Sexuality Today compares love and friendship finding differences and similarities. Both feelings – love and friendship closely correlate and interact, as they possess a lot of common characteristics. First of all love and friendship is relationship, which requires time, effort and many other characteristics, which form mutual relationship. Both, love and friendship assume emotional involvement, care, respect and devotion. Both feelings undergo transformations with the flow of time and go through different stages. You can have several friends but situations of being in loving relationships with several people are very rare and are regarded rather like deviation, than something normal. This is one of the differences between love and friendship. Another incontestable difference between love and friendship is sexual attraction. Friendship usually doesn’t assume any sexual attraction at all and most forms of love (in the context of relationship between people who are in love) include sexual attraction. Love can be reciprocal or not, and in this field it’s expressed more like an attitude. It’s hard to imagine reciprocal friendship. It either exists or not. Friendship is rather a relationship, which emerges on the joint of several spheres i.e. emotional, mental, and physical, etc. Like we could make sure, it’s hard to explain the notion of love or friendship.

Shakespeare’s Interpretation of Love and Friendship in ‘The Merchant of Venice’

Friendship of a lovable Merchant of Venice: One of the most important motifs, as I see it, in The Merchant of Venice is the constant struggle between love and friendship. In each love relationship, Shakespeare introduces a friendship to intrigue the viewer into observing how the two relationships are dealt with by the characters involved. The main effect of this motif was to show how love and friendship do not have to compete with each other and that each is needed in order to fulfill a person. As it turned out, Antonio ended up risking his very life for Bassanio and this love.

Bassanio says he’s sharing with Antonio because they’re friends, but he makes explicit that he owes Antonio the most in ‘money and love.’ (It turns out that Antonio has been very generous with Bassanio, who has a hard time keeping his finances in order.) This is our first hint that friendship might mean a different thing for Bassanio than it does for Antonio. Bassanio might just be working on Antonio’s affection in order to keep his purse strings open.

Conclusion: The Coexistence and Significance of Love and Friendship

Bassanio’s love life is the first thing Antonio brings up with Bassanio when they’re alone together in the play. Maybe he’s just one of those guys who likes to gossip, or maybe Bassanio has been on his mind. Bassanio’s new courtship seems likely to be the source of Antonio’s sadness, as it’s at the forefront of his mind. Antonio clearly cares deeply about Bassanio as a friend, and he’s facing the fact that he might lose him to this woman. On the whole, the way Antonio and Portia each understood and helped Bassanio helps the viewer to recognize that love and friendship can coexist. However, the love and friendship must be true and understanding, and one must not feel threatened by the other. Portia displayed true love and understanding of Bassanio’s friendship with Antonio and therefore helped this friendship become deeper. Antonio displayed true friendship in understanding Bassanio’s love for Portia and likewise helped this love to grow and blossom. By portraying these two relationships in one character, Shakespeare emphasized their mutual need for each other in order to fulfill a person. Without Antonio’s friendship, Bassanio’s love for Portia would never have been fulfilled. Also without Portia’s love, Bassanio’s friendship with Antonio would have ended tragically. Bassanio needed both his friendship and love to be whole and satisfied. Shakespeare very successfully shows how true love and friendship not only do not oppose each other but even work together to help the other to mature and develop. In connection with mercy and generosity, The Merchant of Venice also explores love and friendship between its characters. The central romantic relationship of the play is that between Bassanio and Portia. The Merchant of Venice approaches the theme of love in numerous ways; familial, friendship, and of course romantic. Shakespeare also purposely shows a lack of love through the novel, and consistently pairs it with betrayal. Shakespeare shows how enforceable contract not only undergirds the city of Venice, which makes a multicultural society possible, but its corrosive effects on non-contractual relationships like friendship, love, and marriage. This is evident in the decisions, actions, and relationships of Antonio, Bassanio, Portia, and Jessica. Although Shakespeare concludes the play on a happy note, the conclusion one can reach is that, despite its advantages, regimes based on commerce and contract fail to create the conditions for friendship, love, and marriage to flourish. Love is an emotion or feeling in a relationship between two people. Love is directed to a family member, a friend, a significant other, a country, or an ideology. It involves a deeper level of attachment, which can be felt towards everyone without needing to establish any kind of relationship.

Friends vs. Pets Or Both

Everyone has a best friend, but they can be a hassle at some point in time. Some of them can do some despicable things that most people cannot even imagine it.Many people have wondered if they can consider a pet or pets to be their best friends in life.People do not necessarily have people as best friends because pets make a great alternative in that role.

For starters, pets listen better than humans on a daily basis.Pets never use a tool that everyone has done at least once in their life, which is only listening to what the person wants to.This feature is commonly known as selective hearing and humans use it a lot.A main pet that listens well is a dog.It is proven that dogs listen to their owners a lot throughout their lives. They care so much about their owner that they will listen to what they have to say.Dogs listen to the owners because they want their owners to know that they are there.Pets,in general, are a better listener than any friend can be.

Secondly, pets care greatly for their owners more than friends care for each other.Cats, dogs and other animals love their owners very much, and they would do anything for them. Each pet show their owner in different ways that they love them for who they are.Friends are bad about this because they always have something better to do than spend time with their friends. They also do not care about what their friends have to say unlike pets.Friends cannot be trusted with your care because they can start rumors about the information that a person gives them.No matter who that person is to a friend they will still find a way to start something about a little bit of information.Pets,on the other hand, will never spread anything about their owner because they love their owners too much. The right thing for a pet to do is to give their owner unconditional love throughout their entire life.

Another reason for pets to be a best friend other than humans is they are sensitive to the way that their owner feels. My first two dogs were a chihuahua mix with a mutt named Bandit and a red heeler/blue heeler mix named Jake. They both would do anything for me and my brother and sister. Those two dogs could always tell if we had something wrong with us.They were always there to help cheer us up in any way that they could. After Bandit died, we got a new dog which it is a basset hound mixed with a beagle named Bo.He is a great companion to have because he is very sensitive to the feelings of his owners. After Jake died, a few months ago we decided to get two blue heelers named Diesel and Dolly. They care so much for my siblings and me.Dolly is super sensitive to me because she likes me a lot more than the others.Even at my uncle’s house,His blue heeler named Doser is very sensitive to me.After each dog that I have known that has died, the new dogs could sense that something was wrong and helped me through it.Each dog cares for me, and I do in return because they have helped me through the hard times.people do not care as much as pets because people do not rely on each other like pets do.Pets love their owners because their owners are the pets lifeline.Everyone needs a sensitive friend to have a mature conversation with and friends do not cut it.Humans are always finding new ways to poke fun at anything that they can.If we all get a best friend that is a pet, then the world we be a better place.

Any animal would be great to have as a pet because they offer no criticism about ourselves. They make us feel very important in everyday of our lives.Even if the animal does something wrong, they can make anyone’s heart melt in many ways to make them forget why they are mad in the first place. They are the vocal point of everything in which people are looking for in a best friend.Pets play a vital role in just about all everyday actions.Friends are always the first person to offer criticism about anything that they think about any one person.Dogs, along with all other animals, offer nothing but unconditional love and support.Their only form of criticism that animals give is shown by their face when their owner dumps the little amount of food in the food bowl.

One more reason for choosing a pet as a best friend instead of a human is pets are overprotective of their owner.I know someone whose dog will not allow anybody get close to her.I can also relate with this because of Doser. In both cases, the dogs love the human so much that they do not want anyone to get close to harm them.A human friend would never protect their friends like the way that a dog does.Animals, especially dogs, care deeply for everyone that they know. They do not want anything to happen to their owners if they can help it.Animals are so loyal, especially to their owners, because they care for them more than anyone or anything else.An animal’s loyalty can never be judge because of its capacity. This is a trait that makes an animal unique in their own way.Animal’s loyalty is way better than any humans because that animal sticks by its person throughout each phase of the animal’s life.Humans like to jump ship a bunch, while animals do not. They love the owner is they are good until one of them passes away.

Friends are people who stick by each other through thick and thin.Best friends are the best at their jobs. Why a dog, cat,or other animal cannot be considered as that? They can make a whole lot better option of a friend that any human can. They love more than any human and never turn their back on anyone. They make up the complete package when it comes to friends.

As anyone can see, friends are the ones we pick to go through life with and trust with our lives.A best friend, though,is someone who never leaves a person’s side.A great way to put this is by saying that no matter where we are in the world,we will always feel the love of an animal. Many people follow the quote that states that a dog is considered to be,”Man’s best friend,” and I have to agree with it because of no matter who we meet,we will have a fun-loving animal waiting on us when we leave.

No more nominating a special person as a “best friend” when a best friend is that creature that helps the owner get through the hardest of times no matter the day or hour.It shows that it cares, especially when the owner needs it.Pets are the only solution to be any person’s best friend because they always use their “puppy dog eyes” to get the owner’s attention. There should be no need for a best friend when a pet can do the same job without the pet even knowing it.Pets are the best friends of many people and they do it with no effort. There is literally no need for a best friend because they are a whole bunch of pets in the world around us just waiting for that perfect owner.Pets even provide the information that is known as with every person we meet, we are thankful to have an understanding pet just waiting at home for us to love.

Self Motivation Essay

Friends I witnessed so many bad and discouraging moments here as whenever my earnings sometimes go to zero and for almost two to three hours of regular activities I hardly earned half dollar a day or less for my post, however some people although they are sometimes better than me and sometimes I compete them but never successfully crossed their earnings, haha, and these feelings sometimes demotivated me but this is the time of my self-motivation who always whispers on my ears keep it up and you will do better and earn more than this. Friends truly this self-motivation is the only reason behind my presence here just imagine what is the sense of three hours regular efforts and in return, you will get half a dollar a day.

Friends my self-motivation and belief in this system work in my favor of me and from last few months when I heard about *Trybe. One* of my fellow Steemians suggested I start my journey here and finally, I am enjoying the love, better support, and exposure for my work, and friends finally I am now earning something each day due to the valuable support of my beautiful friends and this wonderful community and I am thankful for the curators who recognized this little plankton in this ocean of opportunity and puts my post in reward pool. I am thankful for their valuable love and support. So friend’s self-motivation works and it will bring something better one day believe in that.

Friends may self-motivation is on high as of now and it’s motivating me again to do more and better so maybe one day in the near future I will get successful here and I am confident that I will achieve that landmark as it’s my belief in my self-motivation.

So friends try to develop a self-motivation or you can say find a reason to get something why you need it and how important it is, I mean strong reason and start believing and working on that if your reason and beliefs are strong enough so no one can demotivate you and see how things will start changing and looking easier and start happening in favor to you. For higher and better quality results you should have firm faith in your motivational desire and yourself.

Thankful Essay

You are the partner that has constantly been there for me, paying little respect to what time I call, paying little respect to what degree it’s been since we’ve talked. You are the sidekick that cries with me as we yell the stanzas to our principal tunes on those late-night drives. You are the partner that supports the lion’s share I had constantly needed and makes me feel fit for accomplishing them, despite when the vulnerability sneaks in.

You are the sidekick that has turned out to be with me, stayed by me through every partition and every first date. Through graduation and family work. Through each scrappy hairdo and character crisis.

In this manner, I just expected to state thankfully.

Much gratitude to you for making our fellowship a need so we could grow up without getting to be isolated. Thankful to you for attempting to be a bit of my existence, paying little respect to whether we were in different times of our lives.

Thankful to you for understanding that we can regardless be nearest buddies in the midst of involved timetables. Much gratitude to you for your low upkeep, and astounding friendship that stays unfaltering through each advancing season.

Thankful to you for the endless extended lengths of admonishment. For the jokes when I most expected to hear them and for the shoulder to slant toward following an awful day. Much gratitude to you for neglecting to be reluctant to uncover my reality, paying little mind to whether it could outrage me. Thankful to you for being certified with me by and large.

Much gratitude to you for being my empowering and shocking friend. I can’t imagine where I would be without your comfort energizing me to settle on brave choices in my life. Essay on Friend Lying

An honest enemy is better than a friend who lies.

What does this honestly mean? To begin with, I personally strongly agree with what that message is trying to imply and I prefer someone whom either I know or don’t know to come up to me and tell me the truth to my face, than somebody who will not be honest and forthright with you and talk about you behind your back?

First of all, not many people can be blessed with the title of a ‘friend’. In a person’s everyday life, an individual meets many people however, just a few of them leave a good impression on their life and memory. In almost all cases most of the people who surround us are insincere and deceitful. We don’t get the experience of true friendship straight away, we may think that we have true friends, but as time goes by, they end up showing their true colors. For example, I had a personal experience in primary school, where me and my friends who were extremely close ended up fighting right after graduation. I was bullied because I personally liked anime and BTS, or according to him it was all the Asian stuff, but the important thing to know was, that the guy making fun of me, also liked anime! We ended our friendship after that incident and I’ve never spoken to the group since. Except one of them. At some points in our lives, we do end up getting a true friend, but if a dishonest friend ends up leaving a lasting impression on us, it could affect how we trust others. I wasn’t ever able to get over the fight, it still haunts me to this day that we haven’t been able to fix what happened.

From the opposite point, it very well may be painful if a friend lies in public, but out in the open, a genuine friend will never do this yet a fake one won’t think about the consequences of this exchange, they won’t consider your emotions, for example, disgrace, humiliation. I also now hear that the same boy continues to bad mouth me at his new school, thankfully I’ve got friends there to tell him to stop. He was prepared to sell me out instantly as soon as our group separated. He didn’t think of what was going to happen next, and from what I’ve heard, he isn’t liked very much at the new school. Consequences will eventually come back to bite you.

I believe that it isn’t good to have enemies, yet it is more terrible to have lying friends, since you stay with individuals who are near you, you share practically all the things with them. An honest enemy is in most cases better than a lying friend, as you can discover a great deal of things about yourself with the ability to grow and become a better person later. An enemy does not need to mislead you, so they can come clean about certain things. Having an enemy be honest rather than lie to you is almost better in every way. Even though an honest enemy may seem bad in the long run, it is better as I’ll at least know the truth and am not being deceived. Lots of people would rather have the ugly truth rather than the beautiful lie, as being lied to about things is worse than being dishonest straight up to a person who calls you a friend. Lying friends aren’t true friends, but having an honest enemy means there’s an amount of respect that the opposite person has for you. I’ll admit, there was someone I hated when I was in the fifth grade. We both considered each other as rivals, we both wanted to be better than the other. Although we hated each other, we knew that we both had a deep respect for the other person as we valued each of our talents. He was honest with his criticism and I was mine. Lots of my friends back then used to praise me for my musical talents, but never did anything to push me and never actually encouraged me to do better. Having my rival be there to challenge and critique me on my work helped me push to do better.

Therefore, it’s not good to be lied to by a person that you care for, but rather have the honesty of someone that you consider an enemy. I hope you all enjoyed it, whether you agree or not, thank you for listening.
